FIA: No More Dummy Pit Stops in Formula One

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) warned teams in Formula One that it will no longer allow dummy pit stops in the sport. The governing body of F1 said it is against the rules, and anyone who will be employing it in the future will face sanctions. Mercedes Reprimanded for Conduct During F1 Practice

  Officials in Formula One called the attention of Mercedes-AMG Petronas due to its action during the first practice for the British Grand Prix. The reprimand stemmed from the cover placed at the rear of Nico Rosberg’s race car while it was being returned to the garage following gearbox issues. Mercedes’ Rosberg wins the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix; Hamilton second as team completes another 1-2 finish

Nico Rosberg took the lead heading into turn 1 and managed to keep Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in his rear-view mirror the rest of the way, winning the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix and closing the gap between himself and Hamilton in the drivers’ championship standings. Rosberg finished the race in 1:30:16.9, a comfortable 8.8 seconds ahead of his teammate. With the win, Rosberg is again within 10 points of Hamilton in the championship race, 159 points to 169. Hamilton leads another Mercedes front-row lockout in Austrian Grand Prix qualifying

Lewis Hamilton was at the head of yet another Mercedes AMG Petronas front-row lockout at the qualifying session for the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg. Hamilton notched his 45th career pole position, including his seventh of this current season. In addition, this makes it 19 straight pole positions for Mercedes, dating back to last season’s Austrian GP. This also happens to be the sixth Mercedes front-row qualifying effort this season thanks to Nico Rosberg’s sixth front-row qualification.
