Rosberg was able to extend his lead against the strong contender from Ferrari and the four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel with his recent win. He now has 297 points in his scorecard this season while Vettel has 266 points. Is Niki Lauda Leaving the Mercedes F1 Team?

It seems the friction within the Mercedes F1 Team is not only confined between its drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. According to several news sources, there is also a tension between the group’s chief Toto Wolff and non-executive chairman Niki Lauda. Daily Mail‘s Jonathan McEvoy said, “So annoyed was Wolff that Lauda was being interviewed by journalists that he refused to conduct his own customary press conference. The team’s media manager told journalists that Wolff was their sole spokesman and that they should not speak to Lauda. This is ironic, if nothing else, because Lauda works for the German channel RTL during race weekends, offering his views on sundry… Continue Reading »

There’s nothing left to play for, but it’s clear that Mercedes drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton are still going for victories. The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 drivers managed their 13th front-row lockout of the season, with Rosberg getting pole position for the 2015 Mexican Grand Prix. This is Rosberg’s fifth pole of the season, and his fourth straight. Here’s an interesting stat: out of his last 10 pole positions dating back to last year, Rosberg had only been able to steer two of those to a race win.
