Mercedes F1: Hamilton wins United States Grand Prix ahead of Rosberg

Can Lewis Hamilton hold off Nico Rosberg? Based on how he dominated his Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 teammate at the United States Grand Prix, the answer is: he most certainly can. Hamilton was fairly outpaced by Rosberg during the qualifying session for the race, but the Brit had no problems taking care of the race proper. He took the chequered flag 4.3 seconds ahead of his teammate, and more than 25 seconds ahead of third-placer Daniel Ricciardo. This fourth-straight win allowed Hamilton, who has 316 points now, to extend his lead to 24 over Rosberg, who has 292. Spy shots of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman have been making their rounds on the Internet recently, which we also featured earlier in an article. Based from the photos floating around online, IndianAutosBlog was able to come up with a rendering of the extra-long luxury car. The artist of the blog definitely made a good job in putting out all the details of the upcoming Mercedes limousine. We believe that the million-dollar Mercedes would look very close, if not exactly the same, with the render above if we review the the information that were gathered from official sources so far. Don’t Worry, the V12 Engine is Not Yet Riding to Oblivion

Stricter laws are now in place, which require automakers to come up with more environment-friendly engines. This is the reason why car companies such as Mercedes-Benz are working so hard to make their vehicles more fuel-efficient and have lesser carbon dioxide emissions. Automakers have embraced solutions with turbocharging and displacement reduction to comply with the said rules. As a result, the engines of their latest models have become smaller. Despite the smaller engines, there remains the pressure for them to surpass or at least match the performance of their earlier bigger engines. Mercedes-AMG, in particular, recently replaced its 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine in favor of the 4.0-liter version. With the… Continue Reading »
