AutoExpress reviews the Mercedes Ocean Drive

The Maybach Exelero impressed almost everyone last year, and even appeared in a music video with Jay-Z; this year, it is the turn of the gorgeous Mercedes Ocean Drive Concept, which is already turning heads and making car critics fight for their chance to drive and report on the concept. AutoExpress was one of the first to get the chance to review the Ocean Drive, and according to them, the car is absolutely amazing. Here is a small quote from the AutoExpress people: Forget about the incredible looks, luxurious interior and potent powerplant… The most amazing thing about this drop-top Mercedes S-Class is that it’s a car you could see… Continue Reading »

Autobild: The new 2009 Mercedes E-class

Head over to Autobild, where they have a whole section dedicated to the E-class. While it won’t come out in a couple of years, they have already created a photoshopped design that looks amazing. Will the final one look similar to the one pictures above? I can say with certainty that they have gotten the new C-class right, years before it came out. It could be possible that they somehow know what the new E-class should look like. We definitely know that it is time for a new E-class, not just because the S-class and C-class have been released, but because sales have slowed down for the E-class in recent… Continue Reading »

2008 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG

MotorAuthority has posted a very nice and detail picture of a pchopped (photoshopped) C63 based on the new C-class model. They say that the large amount of spy shots in the recent months have given them an idea of what it should look like. Based on previous MB models and their tradition, we can say that the AMG version will be very close to what they have rendered there. Mercedes usually enhances its AMG models with a very beautiful minimalistic body-kit (unlike some risers), amazing wheels, and with an instrument that will play music- the muffler. This is certainly a good first preview of what the future AMG will look… Continue Reading »

Creating the Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive

Just like the new C-Class, the Ocean Drive concept impressed everyone with its beautiful design. It took the Mercedes brand to a new level by taking design points from the previous Mercedes models. It “square” look reminds me of the mid-nineties models, but its futuristic headlights and its soft-top add a unique touch to the car making it very popular among the car nuts. I know you can’t get enough of it, so here is a video that I found on TopSpeed via Autoblog and uploaded by Alle-Autos-In. .

Mercedes design boss speaks out

UKs Car Magazine set down with Mercedes chief designer, Peter Pfeiffer, for a quick Q&A. Here is the what he had to say about the current models and the future one. What’s the point of the Ocean Drive concept? We had a discussion last year about the current Mercedes-Benz line-up. Mercedes has a very strict design and the idea came up to do a forward-looking car. The Ocean Drive concept is not looking back into the history books at all; we wanted to create a dream. Some say it looks like a Maybach… It was always going to be a Mercedes – not a Maybach. Will you build it? We… Continue Reading »

Autobild can officially predict the future

There is one thing I really like about Autobild, which I did questioned before, it is the computer illustrations that they do before a model gets released. It seems that they have a very talented partner (Huckfeldt) that does everything for them, but it also looks like they possibly received some help from inside the companies. It could also be that they create the designs based on spy-shots or some other ways we are not familiar with. It is interesting to note that the illustrations have been published a couple of years ago, and one in particular is probably more than three years old. Let us see how close Autobild,… Continue Reading »

There is nothing we can do, other than look at the leaked C-Class photos, or wait… Continue Reading »
