Revealed: Ranking of Car Brands in Terms of Engine Reliability

Warranty Direct, the UK’s top provider of direct consumer warranties recently released the top brands of cars that are least and most likely to give you engine problems. The ranking was based on the company’s database which holds about 50,000 policies. Based from their records, German cars did not fare well against their Asian counterparts. They revealed that cars from Volkswagen, BMW and Audi are more prone to engine problems than the rest. Their database showed that Volkswagen’s rate of failure is 1 in 52 engines. BMW Outsells Mercedes-Benz In 2012

Although Mercedes-Benz and BMW saw US sales reach record highs last year, records show that BMW did a better job than its luxury rival from Germany. BMW sales reached 347,583 vehicles, which is 13.8 percent higher compared to 2011. This figure includes sales of the Mini brand of BMW. In comparison, sales of the German luxury car manufacturer reach 305,072 vehicles, which is a 15.4 percent increase compared to the year before. Mercedes Benz sales include the Sprint commercial van and Smart car. Mercedes ACTROS Put on a 10,000KM Test

Mercedes-Benz’ truck, ACTROS, after it has been announced last week that it will be especially for long distance haul, has now been tested for a 10,000KM drive. Now, the official efficiency numbers of the EURO VI engine has been revealed. First off, the EURO V version runs more efficiently at 7.6% less diesel in the 10,000KM test than the current Actros 1844 BlueTec 5. Chinese and German markets showing strong growth in October

Mercedes-Benz China is leading Daimler AG’s premium car brand in terms of sales growth, followed closely by their market share in Germany. Figures for October are up by 13.6 percent as compared to last year of the same month. The company said they delivered as many as 100,500 units for the month of October alone. The breakdown of this figure includes 13,500 units sold in China, doubling their October 2009 output, while dealerships in Germany were able to grow their sales output by 14 percent to 27,000 vehicles. Based on the reports, Mercedes-Benz has made a significant mark in the American luxury market, surpassing both BMW and the long time sales leader, Lexus last month.
