The cars featured are just a snippet of the huge range of great executive cars out on the market.

1. Mercedes Benz C-Class

When you think of a Mercedes Benz you imagine efficiency and stability. Like with most of the German manufacturers cars efficiency and effectiveness come in droves with the C-Class.

The Mercedes Benz C-Class doesn’t falter in those regards. The ride is stable and well controlled. Probably one of the best executive cars out on the market at the moment the huge 320 V6 diesel engine packs a punch and offers up huge performance coupled with luxury.
With the C class models there’s a huge range of different engines, from the small supercharged 1.6 litre petrol to the huge 6.3 litre V8 there are plenty of options in terms of performance.

The overall build of the medium sized executive car is excellent and has come along leaps and bounds from Mercedes previous models. The car is beautiful, its design is a masterpiece of engineering and the people at Mercedes spent a lot of time getting it to where it is.
Handling is where this executive car comes into its own. The Mercedes engineers spent a lot of time making sure the C-class felt right and they did a good job. The whole range of c-class models have wonderful body control and really feel from the wheels. Although the BMW is probably more energetic the Mercedes holds onto its efficiency and feel.

Space isn’t a problem for the car either, the wide saloon model offers an abundance of space inside and backseat passengers don’t suffer with the boot being around 475 litres, average for a car of its size.

Overall the Mercedes is the epitome of efficiency, as is to be expected from Mercedes. The C-class executive saloon goes further though, bringing back its sporting performance and adding great handling to the mix, the car can really go whilst still keep its luxurious and executive feel.

Mercedes-Benz’ truck, ACTROS, after it has been announced last week that it will be especially for long distance haul, has now been tested for a 10,000KM drive. Now, the official efficiency numbers of the EURO VI engine has been revealed.

First off, the EURO V version runs more efficiently at 7.6% less diesel in the 10,000KM test than the current Actros 1844 BlueTec 5. However, the engine knocked the old generation’s consumption by 4.56% and offers lower emissions.

Mercedes-Benz said in a press statement, “Three Actros models – an 1844 BlueTec 5 and two new variants in the guise of an Actros 1845 BlueTec 6 and a BlueTec 5 – each covered just over 10,000 km in seven 24-hour shifts. The average daily mileage stood at 1600 km, breaking down into an 800 km day shift and a night shift of equal length. Each shift was shared by two Mercedes-Benz works drivers at the wheel of each vehicle.”

Dekra inspection agency supervised the test for average fuel consumption and the entire comparative fuel consumption. Shell, Mercedes-Benz’ partner provided the engine oil and diesel fuel of the vehicle for the one-week test.

Mercedes-Benz China is leading Daimler AG’s premium car brand in terms of sales growth, followed closely by their market share in Germany. Figures for October are up by 13.6 percent as compared to last year of the same month.

The company said they delivered as many as 100,500 units for the month of October alone. The breakdown of this figure includes 13,500 units sold in China, doubling their October 2009 output, while dealerships in Germany were able to grow their sales output by 14 percent to 27,000 vehicles. Mercedes-Benz USA, on the other hand, was also able to grow, albeit by a single percent from October last year, to 18,400 amidst recovery from the financial crisis that enveloped the industry the previous year.

They year to date total global sales for the company has now reached 954,000, which when compared to January to October last year is up by 15.5 percent.

Not all is well unfortunately for the German-based premium car company. Despite strong growth of their Mercedes-Benz brand all around the world, Daimler AG is trying to manage the decline in sales of their Smart ultra compact cars. Sales were down 15.4 percent in October with 7,900 units sold globally.

Mercedes Surpasses Lexus As Top U.S. Luxury Automaker

mercedes benz emblem 630 597x396 Mercedes Surpasses Lexus As Top U.S. Luxury Automaker Based on the reports, Mercedes-Benz has made a significant mark in the American luxury market, surpassing both BMW and the long time sales leader, Lexus last month. The Silver Arrow has boosted its sales by 17 percent in the US, up to 19,862 vehicles sold in September. Also, the German company’s CEO, Ernst Lieb, stated that he anticipates the Mercedes-Benz market share to constantly go up till the end of 2010.

The news came as BMW released statement that its sales went up by 21 percent, in contrast to this same time last 2009. On the other hand, Lexus is not doing so good in the market. The Japanese luxury brand experienced a sales drop by up to six percent to 16,948 units, even during the boom of ES sales. The company sold 21 percent more of its front wheel drive automobile in September, but those gains were destroyed as the sales of BMW’s IS range fell by 27 percent.

It would appear the buyers are still a little nervous of Lexus products after the uneventful incident that occurred earlier this year. Though, according to the U.S. vice-president of Lexus sales, Brian Smith, he does not think that his company will be moved of its number one automaker position in the U.S., when all of the 2010 sales is counted.

Mercedes To Dethrone Lexus as U.S. Luxury Brand Leader

lead1mercedese3502010review1 597x396 Mercedes To Dethrone Lexus as U.S. Luxury Brand LeaderAfter ten years of leading the U.S. luxury vehicle sales charts, Lexus may shortly be dethroned by the previous leader, Mercedes-Benz, as well as BMW. While Lexus sales have been recuperating this year from the first half of last year’s poor sales result, the Mercedes-Benz sales have been going up really fast.

One likely reason for this discrepancy is the chain of recalls Lexus has had this present year, which includes accelerator pedals, floor mats, leaking gas tanks and defective valve-springs. Also, based on the reports, the the strong sales of Mercedes-Benz has been greatly influenced by the release of the new E-Class.

Last month, the sales of Lexus went up by merely 2.7 percent in contrast to the 25 percent and 15 percent boost in sales of Mercedes and BMW respectively. Until Lexus sort out its problems and convince its clients that their quality problems have been dealt with, Toyota’s premium brand could descend behind both German brands.
