The Mercedes-AMG GT R is set to make an appearance during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Before it makes it official appearance at the event, a spy video showed the impressive sound made by the successor to the AMG GT as it was undergoing tests, as shown on a report from motorward.com. Particulate Filters Coming To Gas Engine Mercedes-Benz Units

Mercedes-Benz will become the first automobile manufacturer to use particulate filters on its vehicles using galling engines, as shown on a report from motor1.com. Testing of the technology has been conducted by the company for over two years on the Mercedes-Benz S500. The results indicated that the environment benefitted from the use of the particulate filters. The positive results encouraged Mercedes-Benz to use the particulate filters on the other S-Class variants. Daimler Will Spend €3 Billion For Cleaner Diesel Tech

Daimler announced that it will be spending €3 billion ($3.35 billion) for a clean diesel technology. The company aims to reduce the diesel exhaust pollutants of its vehicles through a software update. The upgrade will affect the engines and exhaust systems of its units. According to Reuters, the overall investment already includes the €2.6 billion disclosed by the company in February this year. Daimler will install its diesel autos in Europe with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. Then it will offer particulate filters for gasoline-fed units.
