The New Mercedes-Benz E-Class L Highlighted In Shanghai

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class L was finally revealed in Shanghai during its 2013 Motor Show. The car features a longer body version of the enhanced E-Class which will only be limited to the Chinese territory. The car measures a little more than 5 meters. Then, its wheelbase has been extended up to 14 centimeters by 301.4 centimeters. The longer measurement of the car means plenty of room for the rear passenger to move his or her legs. Concept GLA Unveiled Before It Even Hits Shanghai

The Shanghai Motor Show will not come until April 21. However, Mercedes-Benz already announced the unveiling of the Concept GLA premium compact SUV based on the news released by Autoblog. According to the news source, the new auto will have a four-cylinder turbocharged engine which is capable of giving off 208hp with an engine displacement of 2.0 liters. Mercedes Downplays Its Chances At The Chinese Grand Prix

Despite their win at the Chinese Grand Prix last year, Mercedes head Toto Wolff is playing down its chances of retaining the title as the season starts. Last year was the first win of the team since it returned to Formula 1 racing behind the commanding victory of Nico Rosberg in Shanghai. Daimler and Beijing Automotive Take Action to Strengthen Position in the Market

December 18 marked the integration of Mercedes-Benz Service Co. in Beijing. It was a joint venture of Daimler and Beijing Automotive. The partnership aims to focus on improving sales of both imported and locally-made Mercedes-Benz cars in the region. The China-based partner also united the major dealers in the country to further boost its performance in the market. As the end of year 2012 comes close, Daimler published its annual milestones. Among them were increased sales, more production figures, expansion and higher investments as compared to the previous year. MB Could Sell E-Class Under Beijing Brand in China

In an effort to go around the limitation of Chinese government procurement strictly to Chinese brands, Mercedes-Benz is considering selling E-Class sedans under BAIC’s Beijing marque. Since BAIC is Mercedes-Benz’s partner in China, both parties will benefit if the vehicles are chosen for the government’s fleet. There’s already some moves in the works that would see the E-Class platform transferred over to BAIC, with details in terms of profit sharing still being ironed out. BAIC already has some facilities producing C-Class as well as E-Class vehicles and the GLK as well.
