Daimler and Beijing Automotive Take Action to Strengthen Position in the Market

December 18 marked the integration of Mercedes-Benz Service Co. in Beijing. It was a joint venture of Daimler and Beijing Automotive. The partnership aims to focus on improving sales of both imported and locally-made Mercedes-Benz cars in the region. The China-based partner also united the major dealers in the country to further boost its performance in the market. According to the report of Guangzhou’s Time Weekly, this effort intends to strengthen the sales channels of Mercedes-Benz in China. Mercedes-Benz Milestones in 2012: A Year-End Recap

As the end of year 2012 comes close, Daimler published its annual milestones. Among them were increased sales, more production figures, expansion and higher investments as compared to the previous year. China Will Export the Mercedes E-Class

The sales of the joint venture partner of Mercedes-Benz in China is whopping. Since the start of the year, the company has seen a 52% rise in the Chinese market, but it’s now going steady. A report from Gasgoo says that the Chinese branch is trying to breakthrough the overseas market. In an attempt to do that, they are now exporting the Wheelbase E-Class. The car has been very popular and the management of BAIC says they know that this step may help them increase their 2012 sales. If this become successful the GLK and C-Class may also be exported. China-Made GLK to be Produced on Monday

After Daimler and BAIC’s agreement to expand their partnership in China with more projects, Mercedes- Benz announced that the first China-made GLK SUV will be rolled off in the Beijing Plant on Monday. Paris-to-Bejing E-class cars are returning home

Remember the Mercedes E-Class Marathon from Paris to Beijing that I covered 6 weeks ago, well the marathon has been completed and all the drivers returned to their native countries, but the cars remained in China. The next challenge for Mercedes was getting the cars back to Germany for inspections and to drivers that purchased them.
