China Will Export the Mercedes E-Class

The sales of the joint venture partner of Mercedes-Benz in China is whopping. Since the start of the year, the company has seen a 52% rise in the Chinese market, but it’s now going steady. A report from Gasgoo says that the Chinese branch is trying to breakthrough the overseas market. In an attempt to do that, they are now exporting the Wheelbase E-Class. The car has been very popular and the management of BAIC says they know that this step may help them increase their 2012 sales. If this become successful the GLK and C-Class may also be exported. China-Made GLK to be Produced on Monday

After Daimler and BAIC’s agreement to expand their partnership in China with more projects, Mercedes- Benz announced that the first China-made GLK SUV will be rolled off in the Beijing Plant on Monday. Daimler’s 5th Design Studio Opened in Beijing

The 5th Mercedes- Benz Advanced Design Studio opened in Beijing, this is shortly after the new joint venture with Beijing Benz Automotive Co. Ltd. The opening was attended by Steffen Koehl, Director of Global Advanced Design Mercedes-Benz, Professor Olivier Boulay, VP of Advanced Design Center in China and Ulrich Walker, chairman and CEO of Daimler North East Asia. Daimler and BAIC Ink New Joint Venture

Daimler has announced a joint venture company to be named Beijing Benz Automotive Co, Ltd. (BBAC). Together with its Chinese partner Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation, about 2 billion euros will be invested in the new joint venture. The agreement covers local production for the Chinese market of the the GLK SUV and three models of the upcoming generation of Mercedes-Benz compact cars. Meanwhile, production capacities for the capacities for the C- and E-Class will be expanded from the current 80,000 units, depending on demand. F-CELL World Drive enters final leg back to Europe

Two days from now, Mercedes-Benz’s F-CELL World Drive campaign will leave China’s Auto Shanghai showroom floors and head for the final and lengthiest round of its world tour. It’ll travel all the way from Shanghai through Kazakhstan and Russia until it makes its way back into Europe, it’s original starting point. Almost 14,000 kilometers will have been covered by the B-Class F-CELL with power coming from its three fuel cells. 5,300 kilometers of that distance has been covered in Australia alone. Daimler’s outlook for China pegged at 20% growth

Despite oil prices surging all over the world plus the absence of automotive incentives for car buyers, Daimler AG says that it still expects to perform well in China, predicting at least a 20 percent growth in the country. Daimler Northeast Asia Ltd. Chairman Ulrich Walker says during a press conference that their expected outlook is merely a “conservative” target. CLS Shooting Brake gets the green light
