smart is undoubtedly a nice car. Despite of its size, it is powerful enough to travel long miles and safe enough, just in case you get into a wreck. But because it’s small, some people does not think of it as a useful car, for some it is just a vehicle you can brag about.

The Swiss company, Rinspeed, changes all that. In line with their outlandish concept vehicles, they have unveiled Dock+Go. This design is for the smart fortwo ED, where a “backpack” is added, which calls for additional pair of wheels. With it, the car can be a utility vehicle, which you can use to deliver pizzas or carry your groceries.

The Dock+Go’s interiors also has aesthetic value, a 12.1 inch in dash monitor, a Harman infotainment system, smartphone cradle and gesture control.

It is not available in the market yet, but the company is negotiating with a manufacturer now to have it made. Does this new car looks good for you? Would you consider buying it?

$500 Thousand Lost on Each Maybach Sold

500 Thousand Lost on Each Maybach Sold $500 Thousand Lost on Each Maybach Sold

You all know the reports that Maybach will be shut down in 2013. After 7 years of production, the company was only able to sell 3,000 cars, and according to some sources, Daimler lost around half a million dollars on each piece despite of the hefty $370,00 tag price.

Late last year, rumors went around the blogosphere that Aston Martin will partner with Daimler to resurrect Maybach, however, late 2011, the company decided to stop offering the “ultra-luxury” cars altogether. Instead, a new range of S-Class will fill the void that Maybach will leave.

If this loss is true, then we cannot blame the company for doing this business decision.

How to financing your new Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes Benz S Class 597x398 How to financing your new Mercedes Benz
Financing a new car is a big financial decision. If you’re looking to buy a more high-end model, such as a Mercedes-Benz, how you finance the purchase is especially crucial.

You will pay more total interest on a car loan over the loan term for a Mercedes-Benz than you would for a less expensive car, so you’ll need to compare loans to get the best deal.

The first decision you need to make is what model of Mercedes-Benz to buy. Price ranges vary and the higher the price, the more you’ll pay for insurance coverage.

For example, the C-Sedan series starts at $34,800 brand-new, while an SLK-Class roadster model starts at $54,800. You must be able to cover the loan costs and the insurance premiums for the model you choose.

Once you’ve decided which Mercedes-Benz model meets your driving needs and your budget, you’ll have to look at your financing choices. Compare loans from different sources to get the most affordable financing package.

In the electric vehicle front, Tesla has announced that it is co-developing an electric car with Mercedes-Benz. In 2009, Daimler invested in this innovative electric vehicle developer, and has since used its battery packs in the smart EV. For the new vehicle being developed with the German automaker, Tesla’s entire powertrain is under consideration, which includes the electric motor, gearbox, inverter and control software.

Together with the recent unveiling of its Model X crossover, Tesla’s revenues will be helped along by this cooperative venture with Mercedes-Benz. No timetable has yet been mentioned, but with Tesla’s continued release of electric vehicles with innovative technologies, there is no doubt that their EV technology is mature enough for Mercedes.
