Brabus Zero Emission Presents Full Electric 4WD

official brabus high performance 4wd full electric based on eclass 009 597x396 Brabus Zero Emission Presents Full Electric 4WD

You know electric cars are really in our future when premier Mercedes tuner Brabus not only develops an EV, but sets up a division to develop such vehicles, called Brabus Zero Emission. One of its first developments that has been made public at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show is its E-Class based 4WD Full Electric concept car.

Compared to the supercar performance that Brabus cars normally show, this car can be best described as having adequate performance, hitting 0-100 km/h in just under 7 seconds. But having a top speed of 220 km/h without emitting a single gram of CO2 or any other particulate is performance of a different sort.

Notably, it has a range of 350 kilometers, and can be recharged from a 220V AC outlet, so it’s a very practical car that’s not necessarily limited to an urban environment. Since it’s a Mercedes E-Class, one can expect the high standard of comfort and luxury Benzes are known for. In addition, the electrive drive means a ride orders of magnitude quieter and smoother than a car driven by a conventional engine.

Super tuner Brabus has outed its latest project, which it claims to be the fastest 4-seat cabriolet at the moment: the Brabus E V12 Cabriolet that’s based on the E-Class cabriolet. As you can guess by its name, the tuner has outfitted the car with its own Brabus 800 V12 twin-turbo 12-cylinder engine to produce an astounding 800 horsepower with 1,047 lb.-ft. of torque that’s electronically limited to 811 lb.-ft.

The V12 engine is connected to a 5-speed automatic tranny and comes with a high-performance exhaust system that features stainless steel construction and four tailpipes. The car’s 0-60 speed is pegged at 3.7 seconds, and it gets to 200 kph (124 mph) in a mere 9.9 seconds. According to the tuner, top speed reaches a whopping 231 mph.

Outside the car, we see some LED daytime running lights right at the front apron, along with some sport fenders up front and carbon-fiber fender flares at the car’s rear side. Prospective buyers can choose from different 19-inch performance tires from different brands such as YOKOHAMA, Pirelli, and Continental.

As for the interior, there a black-leather-and-red finish to go with the ergonomic steering wheel, carbon fiber for the dash, console, and side trim, as well as new gauges that include a 250 mph dial speedometer.

The E V12 cabriolet starts at 478,000 euros, or around $679,000 and is built on demand.

Mercedes-Benz Casted in Transformers 3

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, is out in the cinemas. In the movie’s debut at the Sony Center in Berlin, all of the actors of the film were there and signed autographs. The actors, were driven there by a fleet of Mercedes- Benz S400.

But Mercedes-Benz was not only shown in the premier night, it was also casted in the movie. The E-Klasse  was turned into an autobot! It has been reported that it was the one with the white hair and brain power. The thing about it is, it gets killed at the end of the movie so we should be expecting and hoping for another Mercedes model on the next film. Another Benz in the movie was the car of the new lead lady, Victoria’s Secret’s Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The SLS AMG, which didn’t turn to an autobot,  the only “power” it showed was it’s amazing gullwing doors was lifted

Prior Design heats things up with the E-Class Coupe

Prior Design is one of those unique tuners out there which stand out by their tuning principle. That is, to keep things on the outside simple and make big things happen under the hood. With that said, here’s what Prior Design has been up to lately in its workshop – a souped version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe. It’s a follow up to the tuning package the company released for the very same model back in December of 2010.

This time around, they’ve added a set of 20-inch matte gold wheels that just take the cake in terms of aggressiveness. With a stance lower than base form by 35mm, this creation just screams performance upon first sight especially with its new aerodynamic body kit. The exterior packaged consists of a stylized E63 front bumper, side skirts, a diffuser on its rear bumper, four tailpipes that are arranged in AMG fashion, and a trunk lid spoiler made of carbon fiber. Heck, you’d think this mule came straight from AMG’s workshop.

Here comes the juicy part. The engine has been tweaked to deliver a plus of 74 horsepower from stock configuration. Clients can even choose between the classic 4-tailpipe AMG arrangement or a single tail pipe on the left. Well, that’s if you’re street enough to go custom on a E-Class Coupe.
