Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe (aka CLK) Spy shots

The guys over at WorldCarFans.com have some interesting footage of what will be the next E-Class Coupe. As you may remember, Mercedes will be changing the names for the CLK and CL, replacing them with E-Class Coupe and S-Class coupe respectively. It’s rumored that E-Class coupe will arrive to show room in spring of 2009 in show room, but we have our doubts about such a date – probably close to the end of 2009. As you’ll see below, NextAutos also captured some great images of the coupe while being tested.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe details + computer illustrations

Car Magazine has a few computer illustration on how the next gen E-Class Coupe should look like. If you remember back a few weeks ago, we reported that Mercedes will be replacing the CLK with not only a new generation, but also with a new name – the E-Class Coupe. Mercedes-Benz dropping the CLK and CL names

If our friends over at Auto-Motor-und-Sport have it right, then Mercedes-Benz will be changing its naming convention for convertibles and coupes in the near future. The CLK will be the first to go and be replaced by names such as E-Class Convertible and Coupe in 2009. It’s said that Mercedes will expend this strategy to the other models as well, so that at the end of 2009, the CL name will be gone and replaced by the S-Class Coupe. Mercedes-Benz to reveal CLK Shooting Brake Concept in Paris

Carscoop is reporting that Mercedes-Benz is prepping a concept car called the CLK Shooting Brake for the Paris Auto Show. As they put it, it will be a sporty three-door model with an elongated rear-end. This will essentially be a first look at how the next-gen CLK will look like when it comes out in 2009. There is a rumor that Mercedes might actually produce a watered-down version of the shooting brake, so far, the only thing that we are sure of is that a coupe and convertable version will make it to the 2009 market. Kleemann’s CLK 63K AMG Black Series is Coming

Kleemann, Denmark’s finest tuners, has sent us a teaser photo of what will be their CLK 63K AMG Black Series version. The car with all the specs will be unveiled during a press conference on Friday September 5th at the Kleemann HQ in Denmark. They haven’t revealed any details yet, but one thing is for sure, the CLK BS won’t be the same after Kleemann has touched it. “…the result is one of the most fascinating and uncompromising Kleemann cars ever.” – stay tuned.

Mercedes-Benz CLK Spy Shots and Important Details Revealed

Contrary to what many believe, Mercedes has not given up on taking on and beating the competition with its new CLK. Spies have caught the CLK being tested and prepped for a possible release in 2009 to take on not just the 3-series coupe, but also the new A5 from Audi. According to AutoExpress, the new CLK will continue to be marketed as a separate vehicle and won’t be associated with the C or E-Class, even though, it will share the C-Classes chassis and possibly some design ideas. RENNTECH for CLK63 AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz made a big splash with the introduction of its CLK63 AMG Black Series coupe last year. The aggressive “F1 safety-car” look gave the 500 hp CLK Black a visual edge that the CLK55 AMG lacked, and the Black Series’ suspension and brakes were in a decidedly different league compared to other Mercedes. Impressive spec sheet notwithstanding, some customers will still believe that 500 hp is not enough, and for those select few who find the CLK a bit tame, there is always RENNTECH.
