Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series: Hear It Roar!

In one of the greatest fuel station in the world, a video was shot. Well, first, I think it is one of the greatest because of its location, it is in Nurburgring.

The video is actually a “soundtrack” of the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series, as it kind of brags how its 8 cylinder engine produces power. Hit the play button and see (or hear) for yourself.

A Video of the Growling Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series

Uploaded by Jorrie2, this video is a fresh take on the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, which is not new anymore, yet still creates buzz. Because of the power and the beauty of the vehicle, it is not difficult to understand why lots of car enthusiasts still admire it.

In this video, the CLK63 is seen in a gas station with the SLS AMG and the Porsche 911 GT2. It speeds away leaving rubber tracks behind and sounding like a roaring lion on the road. The other cars followed too.

Enthusiast Creates Black Series From An ’05 CLK55

In the finest tradition of hotrodding, a Mercedes enthusiast has converted his CLK55 into his version of a CLK Black Series edition. Not willing or able to replace his 2005 CLK55 with a Black Series, the owner hired a team of mechanics to upgrade his car’s engine, for an increase in output to 450 horsepower. An aftermarket exhaust advertises the fact that this CLK is no ordinary luxury convertible.

This enthusiast then fitted his CLK55 with an original wide body kit and replaced the bumpers, side skirts and grille with Black Series items. Black Series 19-inch wheels complete the transformation from an ordinary CLK55 to Mercedes-AMG’s version of the ultimate convertible.

To complete the transformation, our hardcore enthusiast opted for an in-car entertainment system that has DVD monitors in the headrests and Hifonics amps and subwoofer system in the trunk. Curiously, after spending all that money on the upgrades, the owner of this car has now decided to dispose of it for $96,000. One would think that he would have wanted to show off and enjoy his creation for a while before tiring of it and selling it off.

New C-Class rounding the Nurburgring

It’s been a while since we last wrote about the facelifted C-Class. Well, here’s the saloon variant making rounds on infamous Nurburgring. In case you’re wondering, this is the track that gave the new CLS is first ever recorded crash, as well as the SLS AMG GT3′s first fiasco on a track on its racing debut. You can see that this test car has been lightly disguised to reveal subtle visual enhancements up front, most notably taking cues from the brand-new E-Class range—the headlamps, the well-contoured bonnet and the redesigned bumper.

Now, if you peek at the rear end, you’ll find even less enhancements, limited to the bumper and the taillights. What matters more is what’s going to be sitting under the hood. The engine options will probably be modified versions of the current four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, plus an optional seven-speed automatic tranny from the conventional five-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, the 3.5-liter V6 that’s currently powering the C350 CGI will most probably make way for a reworked version from Mercedes-Benz’s new family of MoVe engines.

Now, if you’re eager to see the enhanced C-Class Saloon and Estate variants, then you have to make plans for being present at the Detroit Motor Show come January next year. Because, there will be another highlight apart from the two—the new C-Class Coupe—to succeed both the CLC and CLK. This Coupe will probably be the basis of the new C63 AMG model, which is aimed to rival the BMW M3, and maybe even a Black Series for hard knocks. Just don’t expect a Cabrio, folks.

Update on the next-generation C-Class

So yeah, the next C-Class will come in both coupe and convertible variants. In the gallery below, you’ll even get to peek at its interior. But how will the next C-Class Coupe fare against the two-door E-Class. Since the E-Class similarly is based on the current C-Class platform, it’ll be fun to see which of the two will be larger and performance-wise, which will be a lot more tempting to drive.

A lot of questions are hanging on these two vehicle lineups, questions which will hopefully get some answers from the up-and-coming Paris Motor Show in France. Surely, you guys are wondering what the price tag will be and how much they will differ for the different C-Class variants, namely the Coupe, Cabrio and Sedan. A bigger question it seems is whether the Coupe will be sharing platforms with the Sedan.

Oh well, perhaps only time will tell. One thing’s for sure, though—everyone, including us, is waiting for word on whether there will be a C63 Coupe. That, we got to see. As far as AMG is concerned, they’ve never actually let their loyal clients down, whatever new model rolls out of Mercedes-Benz’s production lines.
