Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series: Hear It Roar!

In one of the greatest fuel station in the world, a video was shot. Well, first, I think it is one of the greatest because of its location, it is in Nurburgring.

The video is actually a “soundtrack” of the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series, as it kind of brags how its 8 cylinder engine produces power. Hit the play button and see (or hear) for yourself.

E63 AMG Video Shows Car’s Jekyll & Hyde Persona

Many enthusiasts bemoan the loss of naturally-aspirated behemoth engines like the 6.2 liter V8 which was once the mainstay AMG engine. But despite the thinking of traditionalists, Mercedes engineering has shown that power and fuel efficiency are not mutually exclusive. With the new-generation AMG twin turbo V8, Mercedes has proven that power and fuel efficiency can go hand in hand. Other German manufacturers have made a similar switch to forced induction like AMG has, and the new 5.5 biturbo V8 is certainly no slouch. And as the clip that follows shows, the sound of the engine is not too shabby either.

What is becoming more apparent with each new model introduction is the fact that Mercedes, through AMG, has been turning out pretty exciting cars that were once thought to be the purview of their fiercest competitior, BMW. Combining power and luxury, the E63 is an example of having your cake and eating it too.

A Video of the Growling Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series

Uploaded by Jorrie2, this video is a fresh take on the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, which is not new anymore, yet still creates buzz. Because of the power and the beauty of the vehicle, it is not difficult to understand why lots of car enthusiasts still admire it.

In this video, the CLK63 is seen in a gas station with the SLS AMG and the Porsche 911 GT2. It speeds away leaving rubber tracks behind and sounding like a roaring lion on the road. The other cars followed too.

E-Class Superlight Arriving In 2015

superlight e class E Class Superlight Arriving In 2015

Announced late last year, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the E-Class Superlight will see the light of showrooms in 2015. In contrast to the 2013 SL which makes extensive use of aluminum to make it lighter, the E-Class Superlight will boast of a carbon fiber structure to achieve its target of being 350 kilos lighter than an E-Class made from today’s conventional materials.

Due to the properties of carbon fiber, new design concepts can be pursued, such as doing away with the B pillars, which would in turn give way to the possibility, even necessity, of having an E-Class with rear suicide doors. In keeping with the new age, high-tech use of aerospace materials, the E-Class Superlight will initially be powered by an F-Cell system. This would be in the form of a 150-horsepower hydrogen-powered engine coupled to a 50 horsepower electric motor. Later iterations would include plug-in EV drivetrains as well as fossil-fueled engines.

Mercedes is targetting 20,000 units annually once its starts production and of course, it’s too early to say how much these lightweight E-Classes will cost.

China Will Export the Mercedes E-Class

China Will Export the Mercedes E Class

The sales of the joint venture partner of Mercedes-Benz in China is whopping. Since the start of the year, the company has seen a 52% rise in the Chinese market, but it’s now going steady.

A report from Gasgoo says that the Chinese branch is trying to breakthrough the overseas market. In an attempt to do that, they are now exporting the Wheelbase E-Class. The car has been very popular and the management of BAIC says they know that this step may help them increase their 2012 sales. If this become successful the GLK and C-Class may also be exported.
