Mercedes-Benz USA announced that their April sales have reached a total of 18,228 vehicles.  This is a great news as their sales have gone up to a total of 25.1%, starting the second quarter with a 25.5% rise on a year to date basis. High demands for both the Mercedes passenger car and light-truck categories were the main reason for the high sales volume for this month.  With regards to the sedan category, the much trendy C-Class, which is much preferred by the younger generation and the first time Mercedes Benz buyers, continued to be the volume leader by having a sales of 4,624.  As with their E-Class 9th generation, it still maintained its high sales by having a total sales of 4,528, and lastly the M-Class SUV also got great results with a total sales of 2,269.  Maintaining its high sales every year, Mercedes-Benz has sold over 68,794 new vehicles, which is a 35.5% boost compared to last year.  By the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, Mercedes-Benz USA increased their sales by 14.1% compared to their total sales last April 2009.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has its headquarters in Montvale, New Jersey and is the sole responsible for the distribution, customer service and marketing for all the Mercedes-Benz and Maybach products in the whole North America.

Land Down Under to enjoy added value in 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Mercedes-Benz is really putting premium into its Australian dealerships, starting with value-added enhancements to the 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. To entice prospective buyers, the C-Class will now be given a brand new turbocharged direct injection gasoline engine at entry-level, not to mention a revitalized C 250 CGI model.

Pegged at $57,900, the entry-level C 200 CGI will get power from a 1.8-liter turbocharged four that’ll max out at 135kW and 270Nm. This model will oust the outgoing supercharged C 200 Kompressor version. The C 250 CGI, on the other hand, continues to hold the four-cylinder C-Class flag with a 15kW and 40Nm performance boost over the entry-level C 200.

Whichever way you choose to embark, all C-Class models will be flaunting as much as $7,948 in additional standard equipment. None of these will put a heavier toll on the C-Class price tag, and you’ll get the most premium with the V6 models.

With these value-added perks, the C-Class will continue to dominate the Australian market as the patronized Mercedes-Benz model. Figuratively speaking, a total of 163 C-Class sedans plus 394 C-Class estate models have been sold, adding up to almost half of the entire passenger car sales down under by Mercedes-Benz Australia.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class crashes through parking garage wall

As you’ll see in the pictures, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class slammed through an outside wall of a 6th floor Bank of America garage in downtown Tulsa, OK. Fire crew were on the scene within minutes, but luckily the car was in no danger of falling out of the garage, nor were there any injuries reported. The C-Class driver told police he somehow got his foot stuck under the gas pedal. He says that caused the car to zoom across the parking garage in reverse and slam into the outer wall. This of course makes no sense what so ever, the only way this would be possible is if stepping on the accelerator makes the car go forward, and lifting up the pedal must make it go backwards!

Honestly, when I first view the image, posted on reddit by Destos, I was thinking that the car crashed in from the outside? Which would have been way more awesome. As you can see on the pictures, there is almost no significant damage to the car; either the car is really well built, or the wall was very weak.

Mercedes Benz C 63 AMG was launched in Australia in 2008 and exactly after a year the German company has declared that more than 1000 C 63′s (both estate and sedan) have been sold since then.

The actual figure stands at 32 estates and 1,006 sedans. These figures have made the C63, the best selling AMG make in Australia to date. This announcement has propelled Mercedes-Benz Australia Pacific to the fourth rank worldwide (by volume) for international AMG sales.

In 2009, Mercedes-Benz has recorded 8 percent growth in AMG sales despite stock shortages. A major push was provided by the limited edition “Edition 63″ C 63 estates and sedans which were especially built for Australia.

Commenting on the success, Mr. Horst von Sanden, the Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said “So far in 2010 we have posted a 22 percent increase in sales, with the all-new E 63 AMG already having sold more than 100 units and the C 63 AMG is on track for more 600 units. We have convincingly established the C63 as the ultimate prestige sports sedan in Australia by outselling our nearest rival by 66 percent in 2009 and 131 percent in 2010.” Von Sanden jokingly concluded saying, “I sometimes think that AMG stands for ‘Australian Market growth’.”

The highly acclaimed Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG produces a healthy 336kW at 6,800rpm coupled with a torque of 600Nm. The car takes just 4.5 seconds to sprint from zero to 100 km/h. its major competitors are BMW M3, Audi RS4 and Lexus IS-F.

2005 DTM champ Gary Paffett wins at Hockenheim season opener

No matter how good you are at something, sometimes you have to say a little prayer of thanks to lady luck for being there when you need her most. And for 2010 DTM Mercedes-Benz driver Gary Paffett, lady luck’s presence earned him the first victory in the season, ahead of three fellow Mercedes-Benz drivers.

Earning the ire of fate was Audi’s Martin Tomczyk, whose quick pace was just as quickly decimated when his left-rear tire blew under pressure. Tomczyk had nowhere to go after leading the race until Lap 11.

Paffett, on the other hand, kept reaping the fruits of Audi’s mistakes. Fueling his unbelievable luck was Audi’s Mattias Ekstrom, whose dire mistake in the pits cost him a drive-through penalty.

Contending for 2nd place was Persson’s Jamie Green and Mercedes-Benz’s Bruno Spengler. The Canadian proved too determined for Green, who was pushed back into 3rd place in the 32nd lap.

4th placer Paul di Resta owes much to Paffett, whose tire management allowed him to catch up on the breakaway trio.

In the end, it was four 2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class race cars which finished ahead of everyone else, with 2005 DTM champion Paffett striking first blood for the season.
