It’s a white and wintry Christmas in many parts of the world but Mercedes-Benz is in a black mood. A Black Series mood, that is. Following the media campaign for the C63 AMG Black Series coupe and the announcement of the SLS Black Series in its coupe and roadster version comes the confirmation that a Black Series C63 AMG Estate is in the works. There is a certain subset of car enthusiasts that just go gaga over fast estates and Mercedes certainly won’t deny these enthusiastic individuals the chance to own a Black Series estate.

Since the C63 Black Series estate won’t be released til the middle of next year at the earliest, those car enthusiasts pining for that super wagon will have to content themselves with a rendering from Theophilus Chin, who has come up with a version that definitely has our mouths watering. The front of the car is certainly consistent with the official images of the Black Series coupe and the rest of the rendering continues with what AMG designers would probably pen to make an aggressive-looking Black Series estate. It would also be safe to assume that the estate will have the 517 horsepower/7-speed drivetrain of the other C63 Black Series variants, which would mean a 0-60 mph time of around 4 seconds.

Some people are suckers for fast station wagons and we at BenzInsider are not averse to a well sorted one, specially if it’s a smallish estate, as they’re more commonly known now. Auto Evolution has reported capturing a C63 AMG Black Series prototype in the flesh with the pictures to prove it. As the bigger Audi S6 and M5 Touring cars have demonstrated, there is a niche market for these types of cars which a Black Series Estate can perfectly fill. Imagine the gapes of wonder a wagon with a 6.2 liter V8 pumping 517 horsepower to the wheels will produce. Transmitting all that power will be Mercedes’ excellent 7-speed Speedshift transmission.

Before you think than this extreme wagon is just a toy, Mercedes-Benz estates are in wide use as medical and service vehicles.  Although, a 500-plus horsepower medical car with huge wheels and matching arches may seem a bit much, one only needs to watch an F1 race to see one in service.

The C-Class Interactive Owner’s Manual

As with the SLK online owner’s manual we’ve shown you before, Mercedes-Benz has now launched the interactive manuals for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (w204) compact executive car and the C-Class Estate station wagon (s204). This opens up all of the specifications and details about the two cars that enthusiasts would like to see, and it is also a good window into which prospective buyers can peer into and see if they like the vehicles.

Once again, the details seem to be German-spec and these online owner’s manuals are again not intended to be direct counterparts of the printed vehicle manuals that owners are entitled to upon purchase. Contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer if you need a printed copy of your car’s owner’s manual.

Note that the C-Class Estate (s204) is currently not being sold in North America, quite possibly due to the lackluster sales figures of the s203 version.

Check out the interactive manuals by following these links: C-Class w204 interactive owner’s manual and C-Class Estate s204 interactive owner’s manual.

Spy Photo: 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate with Modified Interior

2011 Mercedes C Class Estate 01 597x323 Spy Photo: 2011 Mercedes Benz C Class Estate with Modified InteriorSpy photos show the Estate model of the modified 2011 C-Class and a peak into the car’s newly designed dashboard. Though there are still no information with regards to the engineering modifications, it is predicted that the few mechanical changes will showcase its fuel economy and a reduction of CO2 emissions throughout the line. This design will be incorporated for all body styles including the sedan and the latest member of the range, the coupe.

Outside the vehicle, the concealment masks a number of modifications which include re-designed front and rear bumpers, minor adjustments to the headlamp and tail lights and a tweaked front grille and bonnet. Taking inspiration from the much bigger E and S-Class designs, the prototype C-Class modification gets a newly fabricated instrument panel that also includes the display screen over the latest center console, which has the latest controls and air-vents.

The newly designed C-Class sedan, Estate line and the latest Coupe variant is expected to be out in the market next spring.

New C-Class rounding the Nurburgring

It’s been a while since we last wrote about the facelifted C-Class. Well, here’s the saloon variant making rounds on infamous Nurburgring. In case you’re wondering, this is the track that gave the new CLS is first ever recorded crash, as well as the SLS AMG GT3′s first fiasco on a track on its racing debut. You can see that this test car has been lightly disguised to reveal subtle visual enhancements up front, most notably taking cues from the brand-new E-Class range—the headlamps, the well-contoured bonnet and the redesigned bumper.

Now, if you peek at the rear end, you’ll find even less enhancements, limited to the bumper and the taillights. What matters more is what’s going to be sitting under the hood. The engine options will probably be modified versions of the current four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, plus an optional seven-speed automatic tranny from the conventional five-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, the 3.5-liter V6 that’s currently powering the C350 CGI will most probably make way for a reworked version from Mercedes-Benz’s new family of MoVe engines.

Now, if you’re eager to see the enhanced C-Class Saloon and Estate variants, then you have to make plans for being present at the Detroit Motor Show come January next year. Because, there will be another highlight apart from the two—the new C-Class Coupe—to succeed both the CLC and CLK. This Coupe will probably be the basis of the new C63 AMG model, which is aimed to rival the BMW M3, and maybe even a Black Series for hard knocks. Just don’t expect a Cabrio, folks.
