Is Daimler Exploring Producing Mercedes-Benz Cars in Mexico with Nissan?

Daimler is said to be eyeing joint car production with Nissan in Mexico, according to reports. It seems the German company is looking into various options to get production of certain Mercedes-Benz cars, such as the A-Class, through Nissan facilities in the country. According to a Daimler official who wishes to remain anonymous, the joint production in Mexico has a good chance of pushing through. Mercedes-Benz Maintains Momentum in May

Mercedes-Benz continued the trend of growth during the month of May 2013, selling a total of 121,360 units last month that accounts for a 7.3% increase year-over-year. In addition, the automaker also posted a record 562,824 units sold in the year to date, a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Strong performance in the NAFTA region as well as in Europe and Asia are considered the biggest drivers in this growth, and the compact cars and SUV models are the primary breadwinners for the Stuttgart-based company. Schumacher in Mercedes-Benz F1 Car Takes On AMG Models

Before the 24-hour Nurburgring event last weekend, Mercedes-Benz put on an awesome demonstration of what their Formula One car is capable of. The demo pitted Michael Schumacher in a Mercedes-Benz F1 race car against four AMG variants of the brand in a game of “catch up”. The variants included were the A45 AMG, E63 AMG 4Matic, SLS AMG Black Series and SLS AMG GT3. On the helm of the AMG cars were Bernd Maylander, Karl Wendlinger, Nico Rosberg and Bernd Schneider, respectively. A-Class Launching in India Pushes Through, Prices of the New Car Revealed

In a follow up report, the A-Class hatchback is finally lunched in India. According to the India-based The Economic Times, the debut of the new class in the country took place in a Mumbai showroom. The price of the new car is at Rs 21.93 lakh (approximately $39,000) up to Rs 22.73 lakh (estimated as $40,000). The most fuel efficient in the variant is the one equipped with 2.2-liter diesel engine, which is priced Rs 21.93 lakh. New A-Class and B-Class to be Launched in India this May 30

  With the sales of Mercedes-Benz India looking great, the brand is releasing two variants in the territory on May 30. The new car will be under the A-Class and B-Class category. Based on a report by the Indian auto news site called Car Dekho, buyers of the new A-Class premium hatchback will have two engine options to choose from. One will have a 1.6-liter petrol and the other will be equipped with a 1.8-liter turbo diesel engine. Then, it will have a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the new B-Class will only be available in a 1.8-liter turbo diesel engine.

Daimler Recalls All New Models of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Daimler is recalling the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class models, says a new report from Bloomberg Businessweek. According to the report, the recall is due to the faulty airbags of the new cars. Wolfgang Zanker, a spokesperson for the company, explained through the news source that the passenger airbags of the new models of the A-Class have the tendency not to inflate properly in the time of an accident. He added that the problem is estimated to have affected around 6,000 cars in Germany where most of the vehicles were sold.
