Mercedes’ Rosberg wins 2014 Brazilian GP

Nico Rosberg was not going to give this one away. The German driver held off teammate Lewis Hamilton from start to finish to win the 2014 Brazilian Grand Prix to cut Hamilton’s lead in the standings to 17 points heading into the final race of the season. It was a tight battle between the two Mercedes cars, with Rosberg eventually prevailing over 71 contested laps. Mercedes-Benz notches record sales in October

What a way to kick off the fourth quarter for what is turning out to be a strong 2014 for Mercedes-Benz. The German automaker sold 140,941 vehicles in October, making it the best-selling October in the company’s history. In addition, that figure marks an 11.5 percent increase compared to the previous month. Year-to-date figures are also up, with the total now at 1,336,097, which accounts for a 12.4 percent improvement over the total units sold during the first ten months of 2013. The compact segment continued to drive Mercedes-Benz sales worldwide, with year-to-date totals of 375,435 units sold between the A-Class, B-Class, CLA-Class, and GLA-Class. Mercedes F1: Hamilton wins United States Grand Prix ahead of Rosberg

Can Lewis Hamilton hold off Nico Rosberg? Based on how he dominated his Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 teammate at the United States Grand Prix, the answer is: he most certainly can. Hamilton was fairly outpaced by Rosberg during the qualifying session for the race, but the Brit had no problems taking care of the race proper. US shale boom not very beneficial for Mercedes-Benz owners

With shale gas booming in the United States, regular gas prices are being driven down to some $3.03 per gallon, which would be the lowest figure in the past four years according to a Bloomberg report. Mercedes’ Rosberg races to United States Grand Prix pole position

Mercedes F1 driver Nico Rosberg is chasing teammate Lewis Hamilton for the 2014 drivers championship, and his bid just got a boost after the German took pole position at the United States Grand Prix qualifying session. Trailing by 17 points with three races left, Rosberg is scrambling to cut into his teammate’s lead. Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains bags Dewar Trophy for F1 power unit design

Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) was awarded the 2014 Dewar Trophy, the most prestigious engineering accolade in British automotive engineering awarded by the Royal Automobile Club, for the PU106A Hybrid Formula One Power Unit that was designed, developed, and built fully in HPP’s facilities in Brixworth. This year marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sir Thomas Dewar, for which the trophy is named. 2014 also marks ‘120 years of motorsport success for Mercedes-Benz’ and is a major technological turning point in Formula 1 with the introduction of the new power units. Mercedes AMG Petronas, Puma extend F1 partnership

The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team and Germany-based multinational sportswear company Puma have agreed to extend their F1 partnership. The extension on the deal that started in 2012 will come into effect by January of next year. Puma will be Official Supplier of Technical Clothing and Footwear as well as an Official Licensee of Footwear, Apparel and Accessories.
