F1: Hamilton wins 2015 Italian GP as Mercedes teammate Rosberg flames out

Lewis Hamilton won the 2015 Italian Grand Prix from pole position, taking his seventh win this season and third in the last four outings. The day was not as kind to Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, however, as the back of Nico Rosberg’s car caught fire two laps from the finish as he tried to pass Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari. Hamilton wins pole for Italian Grand Prix; Rosberg in row 2

Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton captured yet another pole position, beating out Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen for the chance to start at the front of the grid at the 2015 Italian Grand Prix. Raikkonen’s teammate Sebastian Vettel qualified at P3, followed by Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg in p4. The qualifying times were close, with Hamilton emerging on top thanks to his 1:23.397. Raikkonen was at 1:23.631, which was just a shade better than Vettel’s 1:23.685. Rosberg topped out at 1:23.703. 2015 Belgian Grand Prix qualifying: Lewis Hamilton takes pole for Mercedes; Rosberg P2

Mercedes AMG Petronas was able to get back in the groove with another front-row lockout in qualifying for the 2015 Belgian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton secured his tenth pole position in 11 races so far this season. Teammate Nico Rosberg stayed close until Q3, but was unable to take pole from Hamilton and thus settled for P2. Mercedes-Benz launches new SUV marketing campaign powered by celebrities

While compact cars are the primary driving force behind the banner year of German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, the company has high hopes for its growing SUV line. With that, the company is launching a new marketing campaign for its SUVs. It’s all about showing you that the Mercedes SUV range is “At home in every terrain”—that’s the overarching catchphrase for the SUVs. According to Dr Jens Thiemer, the aim is to present the full SUV family instead of showcasing individual models. Mercedes-Benz to enter South Korea premium taxi market

Starting October, Mercedes-Benz will enter the South Keorean premium taxi market, competing with BMW in a pilot project by Seoul City and in partnership with Daum Kakao and High&, a local taxi association. The program is designed to allow taxi services to cope with the popularity of app-based transport services such as Uber. There will be 50 units of the new Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTec 4MATIC along with 50 units of BMW’s 530d xDrive. These premium taxi units will carry a new mobile-app-based reservation system in the fall. The app will debut through Daum Kakao. Mercedes-Benz passes million-car sales mark in July

Here’s one more indicator of just how much success Mercedes-Benz is enjoying in 2015: in July, the German automaker has just passed the 1-million mark for cars sold so far this year. To be more specific, Mercedes-Benz has sold 1,048,178 vehicles as of the end of July 2015. That number plus smart car sales adds up to 1,119,629 units. “Never before have we delivered so many cars to customers in the first seven months of a year,” stated Mercedes-Benz Cars marketing and sales chief Ola Källenius. Five Mercedes-Benz cars stolen from Fairfield dealership

Thieves ran away with five current-model Mercedes-Benz cars worth over $200,000 combined from the Mercedes of Fairfield dealership, in a spree carried out over the course of one week. The dealership had not been alerted to the thefts until Yonkers, NY police informed the dealership that a couple of the cars were spotted on a city street bearing the Mercedes of Fairfield logo on the plate holders. The two cars found were a 2015 ML250 (retail price at $49,800) and a 2015 GL450 (retail price $74,050). The rest of the stolen units had been found in the Bronx, according to the police.
