Mercedes-Benz Plans to Rename the M-Class to GLE

Mercedes-Benz is currently undergoing some major changes in the names of its popular vehicle ranges. Among the ranges affected by the new comprehensive renaming strategy of the brand is the M-Class. According to Automotive News, the German luxury automaker will drop the “M-Class” name in favor of the GLE class. In addition to the renaming, the new GLE would also receive a major facelift in early 2015. Its crossover coupe version, which was initially revealed as the Concept Coupe SUV and rumored to carry the GLE Coupe moniker, is scheduled to be launched at around April next year in Beijing. Mercedes Marco Polo Makes Its Debut

Last July, we revealed to you the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo. The vehicle is basically the three-pointed star’s response to Volkswagen’s California camper van. However, Mercedes has upped the ante on this one by making it more luxurious and more comfortable than its rival. Recently, at the Caravan Salon 2014 in Dusseldorf, Mercedes finally debuted the vehicle in not one, but two variants. David Coulthard Defends Nico Rosberg Over Belgian GP Incident

Members of the Formula One community have differing opinions regarding the incident in the Belgian Grand Prix wherein Nico Rosberg clipped Lewis Hamilton’s W05 as he squeezed his way during lap two. The event led to the left puncture of the Briton’s car and eventually to his retirement. The incident put Rosberg on a negative light, and fans even booed him during a post-match appearance. Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake Will Be Launched in January 2015

Several spy photos and videos of the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake have been leaked to the Internet early this year. Past reports also hint that the car will be launched early next year. Recently, MB Passion confirmed the scheduled debut as well as the sale of the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake. According to the source, the car will be launched somewhere around January 12 or 13 next year. Mercedes S-Class Maybach Testing in Nurburgring

Recently, the upcoming Mercedes S-Class Maybach was spotted again while it was making its rounds in the Nurburgring endurance track. YouTube user TouriClips uploaded a video of the actual testing, which can be watched below: What gave the car away as a Maybach was its noticeable longer wheelbase. Then, the wider C-Pillar revealed that the car has more leg-room in its rear cabin. While the current S-Class already allows a nice stretching room for its passengers, comparing the upcoming Maybach with the earlier variants dwarfs them in size. Daimler Celebrates a New Milestone

Daimler is not only known for its exceptional Mercedes-Benz vehicles but also with its trucks. Last August 22, the North American wing of the multinational corporation celebrated another milestone in its truck division. During that time, it shipped its three millionth vehicle according to Salisburypost.com. The vehicle was a Freightliner Cascadia Evolution, which was manufactured at a plant in Cleveland. Hamilton Claims the Clash with Rosberg was Deliberate

Lewis Hamilton was reported “gobsmacked” after a post-race meeting with the people at Mercedes AMG Petronas. That’s because he allegedly learned that his clash with Nico Rosberg was premeditated. Quoting Hamilton’s interview with Sky Sports, BBC and other reporters in the aftermath of the recent Formula One race, he said, “We just had a meeting about it and he (Rosberg) basically said he did it on purpose.
