The last time we saw a video of the Mercedes-Benz self-driving truck in action, it was during its unveiling. But its testing was only limited within its maker’s driving facility, and the only vehicles you can see along its way are its fellow three-pointed star branded autos. According to Daimler, the truck, equipped with the advanced Highway Pilot system, makes its first journey in public road. Mercedes-Benz USA tweeted a photo last week showing the amazing power of the Mercedes-Benz Actros. The photo, which can be seen above, displays the Mercedes-Benz Actros carrying a massive mining truck. The cargo of the Mercedes truck is so huge that the vehicle carrying it looks like a miniature vehicle in comparison to it. According to an article in Road & Track, the usual mining trucks can be anywhere between 180 to 240 tons. But, the weight can even go more than that. 30,000+ Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks Now in Operation

In less than two years since it was launched on the market, the Mercedes-Benz Actros has proven time and again that it’s a formidable and reliable truck. Right now, there are around 30,000 of these trucks in operation worldwide, with some stated to have already accumulated mileage of over 600,000 kilometers.
