As always, there are a lot of things to look forward to in the next-generation model of the Mercedes-AMG A45. AMG CEO Tobias Moers recently revealed some exciting details about it.

In an interview with Carscoops, Moers discussed the following information about the car:

1. Engine

The next AMG A45 will be getting an all-new 2.0-liter engine. The CEO said they are also looking at the possible mix of an electric turbocharger in the car following the example of the facelifted S-Class’ new 3.0-liter inline-six unit. He cleared out though that the electric turbocharger integration might not be introduced in the first version of the next AMG A45.

2. Power

The AMG boss confirmed that the AMG A45 will have at least 400. However, he refused to comment further about it to prevent giving tips that would give competitors an edge.

Moers said the new standard nowadays is over 300 kW (402 hp). Therefore, they are aiming to put more than that in the car.

3. Design

The next-gen A-Class will already embody the design elements introduced in the Concept A, which was shown at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. It should be exciting to see how AMG will incorporate its signature sporty elements in the more refined body of the next A-Class.

4. Drivetrain

In a related article from paultan.org, Moers was asked too whether the next AMG A45 will feature elements found in the fully-variable 4MATIC+ system of the new AMG E63. He answered that it would be hard to put the AWD technology from the E-Class to the A-Class.

5. Arrival

The next AMG A45 will not be unveiled until 2019.
