A new variant of the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe was recently spotted. Spy shots of the car indicate that it is positioned above the current C-Class models that were released by the performance division of the three-pointed star marque.
According to the source of the spy photos, the car we are seeing in the images here is the 2018 Mercedes-AMG C63 R Coupe. Basically, the model is designed to be sportier and more powerful than the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe.
The vehicle in the pictures features more aggressive bumpers and a huge rear wing mounted on the boot lid. The report predicts that the C63 R Coupe might receive the same 4.0-liter biturbo V8 found on the Mercedes-AMG GT R. However, its output might be less than the 577 hp possessed by the GT R. The source said the C63 R Coupe might get 550 hp similar to the figure produced by the Mercedes-AMG GT C that was unveiled at the 2016 Paris Auto Show.
Mercedes-AMG seems to be following the new naming system introduced by its GT models. From the GT R, we now have the C63 R Coupe. The other range of the brand might adapt the trend.
The article dismissed the idea that the car in the photos is possibly the C63 Coupe Black Series. But then again, the C63 R Coupe will probably pave way for its eventual coming.
