The Making Of Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet TV Commercial

Giancarlo Perlas September 28, 2016

The “Amazed Again” TV commercial for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet was produced in the stunning city of Berlin with director Sebastian Strasser at the helm of the project.

Unlike other commercials that simply highlight the features of the vehicle—the technology, the engine, the fuel efficiency, the cargo capacity, etc.—”Amazed Again” worked in and around a central character for the story of his life starting when he was a kid from the 70s, his teenage life as a hippie, and his present-day urbanite lifestyle.

At first, Strasser said they had difficulty in finding actors that would fit the description of the character. Instead of using computer graphics and professional make-up, the production team decided to find actors that can pass off as each other from different generations. In the 3:37 video about the making of the commercial, the three actors appeared together to introduce the short film.

“Amazed Again” aims to make potential Mercedes-Benz customers dream about the perfect car. The C-Class Cabriolet is certainly a dream car for many, thanks to its new design. The modern and luxurious interpretation of the car’s exterior and interior makes for a youthful touch.

There are plenty of high quality details, and it has a distinctive character that is most apparent once the top goes down. The Cabriolet is available with the AIRCAP automatic draught stop system and AIRSCARF neck-level heating as an option. This provides exceptional comfort 365 days a year.

There are two variants available for the Cabriolet—the C 400 4MATIC Cabriolet and the SLC 43.
