The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and the E-Class, too, got featured in Karoline Herfurth’s romantic-comedy film entitled SMS Für Dich” (You’ve Got A Message). In the film, Herfurth rode her G-Class in the road trip of a lifetime to find love and find herself in the process.

Herfurth, who also directed the film, starred as children’s book illustrator Clara Sommerfeld who sets off in her G-Class to find love again. In her journey, she’s taken by the iconic off-roader through the heart of Berlin and rural Brandenburg before bringing her to the arms of sports journalist Mark (Friedrich Mücke), the unintended recipient of her text messages. Adding to the tension is Mark’s editor, Wortmann (Samuel Finzi).

In the film, it has been two years since Clara lost her one true love, Ben, in an accident. She hasn’t come to the terms with the loss yet, so she sends a series of text messages to Ben’s old mobile number. What she doesn’t know is that the number has been reassigned, and her text messages have been received by Mark, a sports journalist.

Puzzled and touched, he felt compelled to track down the mysterious sender with the help of his best friend, David (Frederick Lau).

The romantic comedy was based on the 2009 novel of the same title by Sofie Cramer. At the film’s premiere in Berlin last September 6, the Mercedes-Benz provided an exclusive shuttle service for VIP guests. Select Mercedes-Benz vehicles will accompany the cast on their promotional tour of Germany from September 14 to 18, 2016.
