The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is the latest addition in the Bremen plant’s production line.

Earlier, Mercedes-Benz announced that orders of the GLC Coupe already started. Recently, the company also revealed that the production of the model already commenced.

According to Daimler, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is being made in the company’s Bremen plant. With the addition of the compact SUV, the facility is now producing ten models bearing the three-pointed star marque. Furthermore, the GLC Coupe is the second all-new model to be launched in the same plant.

Markus Schäfer, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars, Production and Supply Chain Management said that the expansion of the SUV line of the brand, through the addition of the GLC Coupe, is a key element in the growth strategy of the company.

Based on the previous report of Daimler, the GLC Coupe is currently available in three models namely the GLC 250 4MATIC Coupe, GLC 220 d 4MATIC Coupe and GLC 250 d 4MATIC Coupe. Other power trims including hybrid and AMG variants will released at the end of the year too. The outputs of the GLC Coupe models range from 136 hp up to 367 hp for its AMG model equipped with a V6 engine.

At present, the Bremen plant of Mercedes has 12,500 employees. The models produced there include the C-Class (saloon, estate, coupe and cabriolet), E-Class (coupe and cabriolet), SL, SLC, GLC and GLC Coupe. Due to the outstanding performance of the plant, it was awarded as the “Factory of the Year” in the large-scale production segment back in 2015.
