The Mercedes-Benz GLC is now available in China. According to the CarNewsChina website, the price range of the SUV is at 396,000 and 579,000 yuan or $62,000 to $90,580.

This GLC is locally-made by Beijing-Benz, a joint venture between Beijing Automotive Group and Daimler AG, wherein the companies own 50% each in its shares. It should be noted that the company used to make the GLK, the GLC’s predecessor, as well as the GLA. It also produces the China-exclusive long-wheelbase versions of the C-Class and the E-Class.

Basically, it carries all the important components of the GLC found elsewhere. The interior comes with the same high-class leather. The one in the pictures has a contrasting white and black theme coupled with chrome highlights for the console, air conditioning unit, and its three-spoke steering wheel.

The Chinese-made GLC carries a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four fueled by petrol. It is configured to produce 184 hp for the GLC 200 model, 211 hp for the GLC 260 model, and 245 hp for the GLC 300. All three are in 4matic four-wheel drive equipped with the nine-speed automatic transmission gearbox of the brand.

The GLC is the answer of Mercedes to the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and the BMW X3. It is not yet clear if the upcoming GLC Coupe will be offered in the territory. But knowing the high demand of the three-pointed star’s products in China, particularly its cars and SUVs, it is expected to hit the region too.
