Mercedes-Benz is poised to unveil another convertible this coming year. Recently, there have been frequent sightings of the disguised Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet. YouTube user walkoART captured one of the instances when the car was taken for testing and shared it to his channel.

While the subject of the video is wrapped in heavy camouflage, which effectively covers all of its key features, it holds a lot of similarities with the latest C-Class coupe of the three-pointed star marque. The outline, stance, bulges, and peeking headlights all scream C-Class coupe. That’s everything except the auto’s retractable fabric roofing.

Compared to its coupe counterpart, the A-pillar of the C-Class convertible is expected to be more rigid since it does not have a fixed roofing with other pillars to support it. It’s mainly for safety reasons and to protect the integrity of the car’s frontal architecture.

For the engine options of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet, it will most likely mirror the same offerings of its coupe variant as have been the practice of its maker in the past—like the S-Class Cabriolet getting the same power unit configurations of its coupe version.

With that said, prepare to see a Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet along the way together with the more powerful C63 S type. The C63 cabrio will carry a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine similar to the AMG variant of the C-Class coupe and the Mercedes-AMG GT. The unit will allow the C63 to produce up to 469 hp and 503 hp for the C63 S.
