Mercedes-Benz finally reveals more information about the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS. A press release as well as photos were provided by the company through Daimler’s Global Media Site to hype the successor of the Mercedes-Benz GL ahead of its launching at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.

Living up to its identity as the S-Class of the Mercedes SUV line. The GLS certainly shows a lot of updates compared to its predecessor, the GL. The exterior, interior, and the technology of the vehicle have been revised to feature the same level of performance, luxury, comfort, styling, safety, and tech advancements offered by its sedan counterpart.

Like what we have seen in the previous spy photos, the GLS receives a more stylish bumper, headlights, and grille. The rear also gets a new bumper and taillights. Other than those, everything remains the same with its older SUV model.

Inside, the new SUV is wrapped in high-class Designo leather with more enhancements for those who would go for the AMG Line package. The steering wheel now has a three-spoke styling, and the instruments are upgraded.

The engine options for all its petrol and diesel variants are revamped too. The most powerful is the Mercedes-Benz GLS 63 4MATIC, which is capable of reaching up to 585 hp with a torque of 760 Nm. However, its fuel consumption is unchanged.

The power of all its units, except the AMG GLS 63, are distributed through a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
