Images Of 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon Interior Emerge

Images of the interior of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon emerged recently, as shown on a report from carscoops.com. No hint of camouflage is visible on the images of the interior, which gives us a clear view of the entire dashboard. While it shows that the S-Class served as the inspiration of the interior of the E-Class, there are some differences in the design as it seems to combine the luxurious design of the S-Class with the sporty look of the C-Class.

The touch screen infotainment system is based on the S-Class but the digital instrument display is replaced by a pair of analog dials with a small screen in the middle. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon also features four circular central air vents of the S-Class as well as the switchgear and lower center console of the C-Class.

The E-Class also features the boxy styling of Mercedes-Benz, which takes space into consideration rather than design. The current model of the E-Class Wagon comes with a luggage space of up to 1,950 liters, and these figures are expected to be considerably higher with the new model.

Despite the bigger size, the weight of the new E-Class is not expected to increase since will use the MRA platform currently found on both the C-Class and S-Class. Using this modular platform allows the new E-Class to lose up to 220 pounds or 100 kilograms of weight due to its aluminum components.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class range may likely have three plug-in hybrid variants. The first variant may feature a four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine with an 82 HP electric motor. The second will combine a 3.0-liter V6 engine with a 109 HP electric motor while the third variant may merge a diesel engine with an electric motor.

The German luxury vehicle manufacturer is also expected to replace the V6 engines with gas and diesel inline-six cylinder engines with the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The first one is expected to be a 2.9-liter twin-turbo-charged diesel engine that offers 313 HP of power.
