MV Agusta F3 800 and Mercedes-AMG GT (5)

More photos of the MV Agusta F3 800 Solar Beam together with the Mercedes-AMG GT surfaced online to further hype the special Italian superbike. The two can be seen riding together on the race track in 10 beautifully made shots.

From the pictures, one could appreciate the beauty of the new motorcycle variant of MV Agusta. It also provides a preview of what the dynamic design of Mercedes-AMG could do to superbikes.

As a recap, the MV Agusta F3 800 Solar Beam carries the same yellow finish plus the black accents found on the Mercedes-AMG GT. AMG badges adorn the motorcycle too in order to emphasize its relationship with the supercar of Mercedes’ performance division.

It should be noted though that the F3 800 only adopted the theme of the AMG GT. Its platform, external components and engine remain as the work of MV Agusta. No technology of Mercedes-AMG was carried out as well into the superbike.

The motorcycle is powered by a three-cylinder 12 valve engine possessing 148 PS at 13,000 rpm and 88 Nm of torque at 10,600. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox with the Italian brand’s signature Electronically Assisted Shift. All these take the top speed of the unit to 269 kmph.

Will Mercedes-AMG Be Developing Its Own Motorcycle?

When news broke out that Daimler has acquired about 25 percent shares of MV Agusta through Mercedes-AMG. Speculations about the development of a Mercedes-AMG superbike got everyone pretty much excited. However, AMG CEO Tobias Moers earlier stated that they have no direct use of MV Agusta’s technology yet. It seems that the same is true with the other party also since they belong in different sectors of the automotive industry.
