New Spy Shots Of The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate

Spy shots of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate emerged recently while it was going through testing, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. The sighting of the test mule follows an earlier sighting of a heavily-camouflaged sedan variant of the next generation E-Class.

The body panels of the recently-sighted prototype may also be heavily-camouflaged, but the front shows that it closely resembles the new sedan. Due to this, the shape of the new headlights may be similar to the ones found on the latest model of the C-Class and S-Class. It also features a two-bar grille and updated front bumper featuring new air intakes. It also features a gently-sloping roof.

While the rear of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate is also expected to be similarly-shaped as the C-Class Estate, it may be bigger. The new E-Class Estate will also feature distinctive wraparound taillights, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust system.

The images may not show much of the interior, but it is expected to have a similar interior as the S-Class with its flowing dashboard, unique air vents and a considerably-larger infotainment display screen.

Aside from the visual enhancements, the luxury vehicle manufacturer is expected to provide the upcoming E-Class Estate a number of technologies to facilitate semi-autonomous driving. The ‘Car-to-X’ communication system may be installed to facilitate recognition and communication with other vehicles. Risks of collision with other vehicles at junctions and tight bends will be reduced using this system.

Advanced sensors are expected to be integrated into the E-Class, including front-facing and rear-facing cameras. The E-Class may also come with an updated version of the Intelligent Drive system of the luxury vehicle company. The system ensures that the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate maintains a suitable distance from other vehicles in front while running up o 200 km/h on highways.
