A huge gathering of smart car owners was recently conducted at Hungaroring in an event called Smarttimes 2015. The autos were displayed and even paraded all over the Formula One race track. We are not sure how many participated in the event, but it was definitely a lot looking at the pictures taken by MB Passion. Based on photo above and the gallery below, there might be more than a hundred of them. The types of smart cars featured in the gathering were the Fortwo and Forfour. Why is No One Buying This Lotec Mercedes-Benz C1000?

It has been displayed in used car dealerships and placed in auctions. It seems no one wants the rare 1995 Lotec Mercedes-Benz C1000 pictured above in their garage permanently. Recently, it was spotted by MB World on sale again in a Lamborghini used car dealership. It should be noted that we ran a story about this car nearly two years ago. During that time, it was set to be auctioned by RKM Collector Car Auctions. The asking price for it was around $1 million to $1.3 million. Well, it seems that it failed to sell. After the tragic death of Justin Wilson, the Formula One governing body is once again considering a closed cockpit for its race cars. In line with this, Mercedes proposed a halo concept to protect its drivers. The design of the canopy aims to solve the issues that were raised during the early testing of a closed cockpit idea, namely: Debris bouncing the canopy at high speeds could ricochet to other cars, or worse, the spectators. Having a canopy would impede immediate access to the driver in the event of an accident. A lot of people have this impression that race cars are characterized by exaggerated winglets and aerodynamic elements. These usually make them absurd and not ideal for road use. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 S Roadster entered the market in January 2009 as a limited edition model of the 722 Edition. Potential buyers now have a chance of owning one of the 150 units produced by the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany since one unit was put up for sale in the Netherlands, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. When the SLR 722 S Roadster was initially offered by Mercedes-Benz, it had a price tag of over $500,000. One unit put up for sale in 2013 had a quoted price of $488,000. Manchester United winger Memphis Depay was recently seen strolling around his current team’s city with his customized Mercedes CL 63 AMG. The football player also posted a photo of his lovely car at Instagram. In the photos of the sports star, which were featured in UK’s Mirror, he can be seen with the Mercedes that was painted all black. Even the wheels, grille, and the accents came with that dark theme. Last April, rumors of a four-door version of the Mercedes-AMG GT started spreading. According to AutoBild, which was the source of the speculation, the sports car will be called the Mercedes-AMG GT4. The report said it will be the answer of Mercedes to the Porsche Panamera, Audi A7 and BMW 6-Series GranCoupe.
