Mercedes-Benz W123 is the finest saloon car of the 20th century. That is according to Mark Cosovich, an expert in the restoration classic cars, and Martin Buckley,  an automotive journalist and a book author.

What makes the Mercedes-Benz W123 the finest saloon car of the previous century? Mr. Buckley said it is because the car is the last properly built Mercedes. He claimed that when its manufacturer developed it, the company did not really care much about its production cost. That made its design stand out among its rivals, plus it had the reliability that could last for a life time. Then, it did not pack enough electronics like the cars we have today. For short, the W123 is the essence of Mercedes all put in one car.

As for Mr. Cosovich, his passion for the Mercedes-Benz W123 is due to the car being a design icon, a superb piece of engineering, and one of a kind. Currently, he is running restoration shops called the W123 World, a name taken from his favorite Mercedes.

Mr. Cosovich is considered by Mr. Buckley and other auto experts as a guru in his line of work because he can take the almost 40-year old car and turn it back in its full-working condition and restore its former glory, making it surpass the value of some of the popular cars of our time.

Based from the video directed by Mike Saunders, Mr. Cosovich and his mechanics meticulously work on the W123 cars that come across the W123 shops. They take a great deal of time and effort to make the old car look and run like a new one. However, the real challenge when they are done with one of the cars lies when it is presented  to a Mercedes-Benz dealership for assessment before its delivery to clients to ensure that all the high standards of the three-pointed star marque are well met.

For more explanation why the Mercedes-Benz W123 is the best of its time, below is a video that explains it all:
