Yahoo! Autos revealed its 2015 Luxury Car of the Year pick on Sunday last week. The recipient for this year’s award went to the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

According to the website, it chose the Mercedes C-Class among other contenders because of its beautiful design, balanced output, and comfort features. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 was also included in the list of nominees, but it only ended up with an Honorable Mention.

The list of other contenders that were included in the Honorable Mentions of the automotive blog were the 2015 Acura TLX, 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C, 2014 BMW M235i, 2015 Chrysler 200C, 2015 For Mustang, 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan, Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T, 2015 Kia K900, 2015 Maserati Ghibli, and the 2015 Subaru WRX.

The particular model that was reviewed by the source was the C300 4Matic Sport. Quoting the report, the awarding body handed the special distinction to the car due to its striking profile view characterized by its dramatically long hood, arching roof, plus fine lines that artistically play with light and shadows provided by its environment. The source found the interior of the car to be as elegant as its exterior too.

In addition, Chris Shenon, the editor of Yahoo! Autos, praised the good power and smooth acceleration of the car. He further commented that the car was fun to drive, sporty, and very quiet.
