Mercedes-Benz GLB May Enter The Market By September 2019

A recent worldcarfans.com report revealed that Mercedes-Benz is planning on releasing the Mercedes-Benz GLB by September 2019.

The upcoming release of the production model of the compact G-Class SUV shows that the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany is aiming to make the baby G-wagen affordable to more customers. It is expected for the upcoming vehicle, which has the codename X247, to use the next-generation MFA2 architecture of Mercedes-Benz.

Although no images of the upcoming luxury SUV are available as of the moment, the pictures of the Mercedes-Benz Ener-G Force concept vehicle may provide potential buyers an idea of how the vehicle looks like.

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB was initially planned to have two body styles. However, the long-wheelbase seven-seat model was the only body style that met the requirements of Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti. The vehicle will be a combination of the visual appeal of the G-Class, proportions of the B-Class and dynamics of the GLA- Class.

It is expected to be available in an on-road body kit featuring a front-wheel drive system and a full all-terrain model featuring the 4Matic 4×4 system. A longer wheelbase means the upcoming luxury SUV offers wider doors that allows access to another row of seats.

It is also expected to be cheaper, lighter and more flexible than the current model. With the increased capacity brought about by the alliance of the luxury vehicle manufacturer with Renault-Nissan, the company may offer two different rear suspensions.

Three-cylinder engines are expected to be offered with the entry-level models. The lineup may include 2.0-liter diesel and gas models offering 204HP to 272HP of power. On the other hand, the Mercedes-Benz GLB45 AMG model is expected to offer 380 HP of power through its twin-turbo engine.
