Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake CDI 4MATIC Given To Finnish Police

A Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake CDI 4MATIC was given recently by Tekniikan Maailma or the World of Technology magazine to the police authorities in Finland, according to gtspirit.com. The brand new luxury vehicle from Mercedes-Benz was a gift for the 60th anniversary celebration of the local magazine

The magazine conducted a survey among its readers asking them which individual or institution deserves to receive a new car. The most appropriate type and model of the vehicle were also included in the survey conducted earlier this year. After the votes were received and tallied, the readers and Tekniikan Maailma resolved that the gift would be given to the traffic control unit of the Finnish police.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake CDI 4MATIC was also selected to be the car that is most suitable for the department.

The new police car was called the TM-60. It has become the latest member in the police force of Finland. The performance of the vehicle was somewhat unchanged. It features a 3.0-L V6 turbo-diesel engine that offers 262HP and torque of 457 lb-ft. This allows the vehicle to run from 0 to 62 mph or 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. It also has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Aside from being a useful and practical, the luxury vehicle is also economical with its 35.6 mpg for the US or 42.8 mpg for the UK. This is equivalent to 6.6 liters for every 100 kilometers.

The Finnish police will become the first police force to use the second-generation CLS for ordinary activities. A number of first-generation of CLS is being used by New York City for police activities.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake CDI 4MATIC is expected to draw in second looks once it is deployed on the streets of Finland.
