Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid Unveiled

It appears that Mercedes-Benz could not wait for the Frankfurt Auto Show to flaunt their latest hybrid flagship. The luxury vehicle manufacturer recently unveiled the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid at a recent press briefing.

The upcoming vehicle will feature a six-cylinder gasoline engine that offers 333HP of power and 480Nm of torque. The hybrid also comes with an electric motor that uses an 8.7kWh battery, found inside the trunk. The engine provides power to the rear wheels of the car. On the other hand, the electric motor provides power to the front wheels.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid has a fuel economy of around three liters for every hundred kilometers or around 78.4 mpg in the US. It has a range of at least thirty kilometers using the electric motor. The electric motor also allows the car to reach a speed of over 120 km/h.

Carbon dioxide emissions of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid is under 75 grams per kilometer.
