Conquering the Wave Rock with Danny Campbell and G350 BlueTEC

Giancarlo Perlas February 7, 2013

The 2012 G350 BlueTEC Edition is a mix of power, efficiency, toughness and style. It is packed with a 6-cylinder diesel engine that can give off up to 210 HP and 540 Nm of torque. Despite its high performance, it only produces less emission than its predecessors. The stylish and tough-looking armor and other features of the unit can overcome rough terrains in extreme natural conditions especially in the arid regions of Australia.

The combination of these factors is the reason why it was chosen by InfinityList and mb! by Mercedes-Benz Magazine as the mode of transport of around eight guys and 160 kilos of camera equipment on the way to Wave Rock.

The travel was no stroll in the park because of the rough terrain which is made worse by the blistering heat. But the G350 provided by Mercedes-Benz Australia made the travel possible and safe for the equipment, film crew and stars who tried to conquer the unique rock formation in the Australian Outback.

The Wave Rock appears to be a smooth structure when seen at a distance and at certain angles. But riding through it with a BMX bike is a different story because it is only there where you can discover its elevated patches and uneven surfaces. Danny Campbell, a famous Australian BMX athlete, rode through the 14-meter high and 110-meter long rock with grace though as he utilized his expert tactics and years of experience in doing stunts with his bike.

InfinityList is one of the leading producers of cinematic online sports content. The video and photos were supplied by Jesse Davidson, InfinityList’s Director of Content Development. The shooting took over 3 days to complete under the extreme heat in the area miles away from Perth.
