6 Cool Mercedes-Benz YouTube Videos

Muamer Hodzic November 26, 2012

That three pointed star may be the most famous symbol in the automobile world. And why would that be any big surprise? Is there anyone that wouldn’t take advantage of the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz and bask in the luxury?

This may be why YouTube videos that feature this symbol of elegance, sophistication and money are so popular.

Here are six of the coolest and hottest videos on YouTube right now that people are talking about. They demonstrate why the Mercedes-Benz is one of the most beloved and sought after vehicles on the market.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

A quick, no frills look at the lighting design on the new models. Whether they’ll ever admit it or not, it demonstrates how Mercedes-Benz engineers its vehicles as much for ‘oooooh’ as they do for safety. Lighting has gradually become a key element in a vehicle design. For all the practicality in the world, most of still want a car that looks cool and the way a car lights up can definitely sway the strongest will.

On a lot of new models, you can even choose the colors you want on your dashboard. The ominous blue X-Files glow? An Alien-ish green or a Christmas red? Whichever, you’ll feel like telling Sulu to kick it up a notch as you soar down the highway under moonlight, the soft glow surrounding the cabin and exterior.

New Video Mercedes E63 AMG 2010 Driving

The reaction to this video is impressive all by itself. The ‘ooh’, ‘ahh’ and ‘OMG’ comments abound over a series of shots of someone peacefully driving the E63 AMG. No conversation. No exposition. No story. We don’t even get to see the face of the guy behind the wheel. We just get to drool as he cruises along winding roads.

We should be so lucky!

With almost a half million hits, it’s obviously worth a look. The latest 2013 trim has a seven speed transmission alongside a 5.5 litre twin turbo V8 that will be hard to hold back on out on the open road. With its well engineered chassis and sexy lines, it’s definitely something the neighbors will take notice of.

Mercedes SLS AMG

Wait for it: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG racing through a tunnel — upside down! With over a million and a half hits, it apparently needed to be seen to be believed. They didn’t necessarily expect everything to go smoothly as everyone looks a little nervous. And it’s not a trick or special effect.

The latest 2013 AMG GT Coupe and Roadster isn’t necessarily as sleek as the model in the video, but it’s still a dragon. Hit 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. Not that it matters. What’s the hurry when you’re sitting inside a cabin covered in designo leather, re-contoured grips on the steering wheel and numerous options for color combinations.

Mercedes S-Class vs. Smart

Running cars upside through tunnels. Slamming expensive cars into each other. Dem Germans should know how to throw a party. Despite the language barrier, it looks like the whole idea was to see what the impact would do to passengers in the vehicles. Happily, everything looks okey-dokey. Despite the show of putting the crash dummies in wheelchairs, they all came out of the smash-up without a scratch.

Safety has been a key element in the design of any vehicle coming off the Mercedes-Benz assembly line. PRE-SAFE has the capacity to foresee conditions that may lead to a rollover or collision, automatically adjusting seat belts, sunroof and windows in anticipation. The traction systems redistribute torque to the wheels for a solid grip. The 4MATIC system makes handling easier.

Mercedes Benz Inventions Commercial

This one’s actually pretty cool. It’s a Mercedes-Benz commercial that demonstrates all the innovations the manufacturer has brought to the automobile industry since its inception. It includes the first safety test vehicle, front and rear crumble zones and the safety steering system, among others. It’s well produced, making it difficult to tell which images are genuine or just shot with grainy imagery.

The Mercedes-Benz has been manufacturing innovative, exciting and luxurious vehicles since day one. These are some of the most sought after vehicles with exceptional resale value. Since rolling the first automobile off its assembly line in 1886, these cars have become synonymous with refinement, status and success. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Sedan, SUV, a Coupe or Roadster, with their sexy lines, Mercedes-Benz brings it to the table.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Tour

Did anyone really want to know this much about any single car?

Probably.

This is as close to getting behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz as any of us may get. It’s 22 minutes of every single, exhausting detail you can drool over about the SLS AMG. You want to know the difference in appearance starting the car during the day or at night, it’s here. Get a look at that 571 hp engine as it throbs and thrums under acceleration. You may be rewinding to rehear phrases like ‘AMG specific speed shift dual clutch 7 speed sport automatic transmission,’ which is probably 16 more words than you need. Still, if you’re an owner, fan or follower of the Mercedes-Benz, this video is a cool ride.

It also reminds you that there’s no other car in the world more beautiful in silver.

There are well over a thousand YouTube videos to view on the Mercedes-Benz. The manufacturer even has its own channel. It’s a great way to enjoy their latest models without having an owner request you take a few steps back. Get a look at everything from the unique and exotic designs behind a designo interior to how the 1963 Mercedes-Benz 600 featured the then revolutionary air suspension system and a V8 engine with 300 hp, cementing the manufacturer’s reputation for power and elegance. It’s definitely a sound place to keep up with the latest tech advancements and new models coming down the pipeline.

For some of us (including this writer), it’s a nice ride, even if we’re just sitting in front of our monitors.
