Below is a video of two stock examples of these cars on another course but using the same basic format. As all enthusiasts know, the GT-R has become the benchmark for affordable performance cars and stock, it offers levels of performance that few cars can match. Video: Actros as a Taxi?

A nice video made in cooperation with Jung von Matt, the leading ad agency of Daimler, shows the Actros as a taxi to show its harshest critics what are its benefits. It passed by Volvo and MAN and picked up passengers from their offices. The result was impressive, not surprisingly, because the “employees” of the competitors seem to like what they saw inside the Mercedes truck. It’s even possible to show the status of doors and loading ramps.  This app, currently available for free, has been written for use with the iPhone or iPad devices. Needless to say, the operator must have the FleetBoard system installed on their buses, with an active service contract in place. The FleetBoard system can be fitted to any Daimler bus… Continue Reading »

U500 Unimog Shows Versatility As A Snowplow

Business and municipal operators keep on finding new uses for Mercedes’s evergreen Unimog, and this time it’s for use as an all-year round snowplow and emergency operations vehicle. This particular Unimog was ordered by Felsenau authorities with the optional 4-wheel steering system. With 4?wheel steering, the Unimog becomes considerably more manoeuvrable with its turning circle reduced by 30 percent. This capability became particularly useful when a recent snowstorm laid on 10 meters of snow on the mountain roads of Vorarlberg in Austria. Before the availability of 4-wheel steering, there was a need to to clear extra bays into a bend in order to achieve the necessary turning radius. Needless to… Continue Reading »
