Looking more like an executive business jet’s cabin than a small earthbound van, Bulgarian tuner Vilner has taken an ordinary Mercdes Vito van and made it truly extraordinary. The understated exterior treatment hints at very little of the transformation wrought by Vilner to the interior of the van. From the outside, the van just sports aftermarket wheels and a subdued presence. Open the sliding door, step inside, and you are transported to a plush luxury interior that you wouldn’t be embarassed to accommodate any VIP or celebrity in.

Four ultra-plush seats occupy the cabin, whose headliner and side trim are finished in matching-color Nappa leather, Alcantara and fine wood. Tinted windows isolate the occupants from the outside world, the better to enjoy the complete infotainment system featuring multispeaker audio and a 19-inch LCD. Helping the occupants keep their cool is an onboard mini ref. Of course, the front occupants of this Vito have not been forgotten, as they are cossetted in Mercedes CL seats.

The G Wagon AMG models are testing and readying, maybe for an auto show early next year. Undergoing a winter testing in Sweden, the AMG models G55 and G65 has been spotted by the guys from AutoEvolution.

In the photos, it seems like the G55 looks almost the same, with just minimal facelifts. The G65 though shows that a biturbo V12 maybe under it’s box-type body. In the report, the G55 may have the 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 engine that is expected to deliver 525HP, while the G65 gets the 6.0 liter twin-turbo V12 that may produce 612HP.

The exterior design on the other hand shows some changes, new mirrors, front bumper and grille and an improved LED daytime running lights. Inside, the G-classes are having new steering wheels and satnav screen which means that it will be on top of the dashboard.

There’s something we mere consumers must not be aware of, as couple of major manufacturers are eyeing double digit increases in production output for the incoming year. First of all, Toyota had announced that it’s increasing manufacturing outputs by 20% for 2012. Then this week, Mercedes announced its intention to increase its own output by 13%. This comes on the heels of record sales for the German manufacturer, and despite the general economic uncertainties that have curbed consumer spending somewhat. Undoubtedly, this confidence in being able to move such an increase in output stems from the fact that Mercedes has done well in new markets such as China and India.

“Mercedes-Benz is going on the attack,” Daimler board member for manufacturing and procurement Wolfgang Bernhard said in a press release. “We are securing our path to the top by extensively investing in the expansion of our high-performance production network.”
