smart has released another limited-edition variant of its evergreen fortwo platform, this time called the Edition 52. This new edition follows smart’s release of the nightorange edition at the recently-concluded 2011 Geneva Auto Show.
The Spanish-flavored Edition 52 is already available for order in, where else?, Spain for a little under 11,000 Euros. As with all the different fortwo editions, the Edition 52 will have some features exclusive to it. The tridion safety cell, air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors, alloy wheels, central locking, distinctive headlamp trim, front grille and mirror caps are items that are all standard among the different editions. The Edition 52, however, also has electric power steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated seats, a lockable glove compartment, a six-speaker smart surround sound audio system as well as a navigation and multimedia system with a touchscreen display. SD card support and USB connectivity add multi-input options to the the ICE system.
Powered by a 1000 cc engine making 71 horsepower, this fortwo incorporates smart’s version of a stop & start system. This limited edition hasn’t been given a production number by smart but what is becoming obvious is that the limited edition smarts are becoming unlimited.
