In time for the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, Carlsson has unveiled its version of the 2011 Mercedes CLS AMG. Starting with what the eye will immediately see, Carlsson has added a muted aerodynamic kit made up of a front bumper with a carbon fiber lip incorporating a stainless steel mesh grill. For the rear treatment, a bumper with integrated diffuser and third brake light encompass oval exhaust pipes. Forty percent lighter 20-inch wheels wrap up the exterior makeup. The interior incorporates Nappa leather, black piano wood and other premium accents to set this CLS AMG apart from the “ordinary” CLS interiors.
Of course, it is a given that serious tuners modify their tuned cars with serious horsepower and in this department, Carlsson does not disappoint. The CLS AMG’s V8 twin-turbocharged 5.5 liters now have 600 horsepower to delivere to the beefy automatic transmission. To handle all this power, C-Tronic components complement the Airmatic suspension, giving a plush ride as well providing the necessary handling to outpace the stock CLS AMG.
