Styling Buck Shows Aggressive Makeover For A-Class

Emmanuel P January 31, 2011

Devoted fans of the Mercedes-Benz marque don’t give the A-Class Mercedes much respect. It’s a legitimate reaction since the Mercedes name is synonymous with luxury and performance and the A-Class doesn’t offer much of both, compared to its C- and E-class brethren. If Mercedes has its way though, the next A-Class will be stylish enough to pique the interest of the M-B elite.

Spy photogs managed to get a set of images showing a styling buck of the next generation A-Class.
Lower and more aggressive-looking, it is unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz and the flanks even show hints of the CLS. Styling bucks are wood sections that are placed on a frame (oftentimes made of steel). Trolley wheels are place underneath for easy movement. Sometimes, the steel panels for show cars are made from full-size these templates of the concept cars. The styling buck that was captured on camera does not appear to be a full-size model.

As former rumors suggest and which even AMG has intimated, there may be high-performance models of the next A-class. These would be entry-level AMG models that would compete with the hot hatches from Audi and BMW

  1. If I had wanted a Golf or BMW Series 1 that is what I would have bought. I bought an A-Class because it was 20cm taller at the seat than either of those and 60cm shorter than the C Classes I had driven for years. When that stops being true I stop buying Mercedes.
