Black Series treatment for the C63 AMG?

Kharl Prado November 13, 2010

Our latest spy photos reveal a prepped up Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Info that came with these photos suggest that this car is being prepared for testing. Just so you know, the C63 AMG is no pushover, as is with anything that bares the AMG tag. And this car you see is rumored to have around 510 of BMW M3-killing horsepower. That’s around 59 horsepower higher than the C63 AMG in stock form.

Thinking back, this might be a last hurrah for the current C63, since the next generation C-Class and the facelifted version are now nearing their launch. Clearly, you can see fender flares that have been tacked on, hugging CLK Black Series wheels on the front. If the info’s right, a large front spoiler and redesigned rear diffuser are to be added to this car as well. The engine should still be the 6.2-liter V8 from the current C63, albeit with some minor modifications, and still be coupled with an AMG Speedshift gearbox.

What do you think, guys? Is this a full-on Black Series treatment? Maybe. But one thing’s for sure. This will definitely make its mark before phase out. Stay tuned here at BenzInsider to get first dibs of official announcements from Mercedes-Benz if this ever makes it into production.
