2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG 01 597x323 Spy Photo: 2012 Mercedes Benz ML63, Without the Heavy CamouflageBased on the past spy photos of the soon to be released Mercedes-Benz 2012 M-Class and ML63 AMG SUV, both vehicles are camouflaged in heavy plastic cladding.

In the recent spy photos of the ML63 AMG frontrunner, the plastic armor has already been removed and replaced by black tape, presenting a much “naked” view of the vehicle’s design. Beneath the sheetmetal, the new M-Class’ chassis is modeled after the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, as a result of the past partnership between Daimler and Chrysler. The AMG designed model featured in the photo comes with an exclusive design like a modified bumper, side skirts, spoilers and a much bigger alloy wheel. Although the ML63 AMG’s specs are still unknown, other Mercedes models in its league include a bi-turbocharged V8 with a 544 horsepower and 800Nm or 590lb ft in standard form, and 571HP and 900 Nm or 663.8 lb-ft – with the present performance pack upgrade.

Being designed by AMG, this M-Class boasts of many modifications to its suspension, steering and braking systems, and its newly manufactured 5.5 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine to replace the present SUV’s naturally aspirated 6.2 liter unit. The latest M-Class boasts of a “boxier” shape and have more curves in contrast to the present model. It also includes a much angular grille in front, that is also more apparent in the newest Mercedes Benz cars. The new ML63 AMG is expected to be presented at a foremost international car show in 2011.
