Mercedes-Benz partners with Bang & Olufsen Automotive for a Top of the Line Sound System

567px-Bang&olufsen-Logo.svgHaving Bang & Olufsen Automotive as a partner, Mercedes-Benz have released a new custom made sound system that is specifically made for its SLS AMG line.  With a total output of 1,000 watts, BeoSound AMG offers high-end quality sound. It features eleven loudspeakers with a customizable distribution of sound.  Based on Danish specialists, the sound signals can be distributed to the side of the driver, to the passenger’s seats or it can be directed to the center of the car, or what they call, the central point.  By using DSP or the digital sound processor you can also customize having a high-end studio sound or the full surround sound.  The sound system is controlled by a custom made Bang and Olufsen menu in its application control and display.  The sound system also boasts of an illuminated 50 watt tweeters in the panel and also two subwoofers that are installed in the parcel shelf. Its Silver Shadow metallic loudspeaker hides its Bang & Olufsen logo signal.

Upon powering on, its color display monitor in the dashboard illuminates the AMG logo for a couple of seconds and depending on the setting, it will show a high-resolution map, music information or a keypad for telephone.  It also boasts of a DVD player on board with an optional 6 disc DVD changer.  Below the DVD, it has a memory card slot for its music files.  Mp3 players like iPod can also be connected to the player through its Media interface.  Mercedes-Benz has fused Comand Aps with the Linguatronic system that is voice controlled together with a Bluetooth function.  According to the management, this high end music system for the SLS AMG Gullwing will be on the market for 7,021 euros (including a 19% Value Added Tax)
