Few days ago, we presented to you the images of the mean looking and mighty, Mercedes-Benz W197 SLS AMG GT3.
The race car has a lot of added features like the two air fins on each side of the front bumper, the new hood that has been modified for greater air induction, a custom made rear bumper with diffuser for added down force and an enormous rear spoiler to give that SLS AMG the grip it needs when tackling those corners. AMG also mounted some multi-spoke purpose built racing rims to make it a perfect race car. However, the GT3 version is expected to range from $300,000-$500,000.
Now, if that’s a little pricey for you, a road going SLS AMG would be more affordable. But I would say, still pricey…. don’t despair. We still have an option. Mercedes has released their SLS AMG scale models. The diecast models would be included in the Mercedes brand collection.
The leading scale model manufacturers, Minichamps, Herpa and Schuco has already produced the SLS AMG in various scales. They have a line up of 1:18, 1:43 and 1:87. That gives us nine different models to choose from. The price of the scale models is ranging from $22 for the 1:87 up to about $80 for the 1:18 model. The diecast models are also available in different colors. With that price, we can get the whole collection of those beautiful pieces. Let’s just hope that there will be GT3 versions as well.
