Even during dark and drizzly weather conditions, the F1 drivers went out on the Jerez circuit in Spain for a test run. Nico Rosberg, in his new Mercedes GP had the overall quickest lap, at 1:20.927, while Sebastien Buemi and his Toro Rosso came in second with a time of 1:21.031. Fernando Alonso with his all new F10 Ferrari was the 4th fastest, with almost 2 seconds behind Rosberg. Last years champion, Jenson Button, and his Mclaren finished on the 6th position, with 4 seconds behind Mercedes GP. If the season is reflected by these times, then it certainly looks promising for the new Mercedes GP team.
