She was very excited to get the car but now we are having second thoughts. The transmission problem has occurred at least a dozen times and we too are recipients of the 2009 upgrade but it has failed once again. It is not just the fact it failed, it is more that it failed while she was driving on the highway and had to pull off the highway with a car that could not be put back in gear. This is an extreme safety hazard and puts my wifes life in jeopardy almost every time she drives it. I am about ready to drive the car onto the dealer lot and leave it there. The dealer has been very good, but MB and/or Smart better come to the table and replace this car with a new one and soon. Once and problem and fixed, I dont feel too bad. I had to call a tow truck today because I couldn't even drive my car to take my dog to the vet for surgery. I am starting to regret my decision ever purchasing this Smart Car.
